Well….the appetizer plate put down in front of me had congealed crusty food. Then the salad was iceberg stalk chunks that were bitter and semi brown (when I could find a bite that I wanted to even attempt). Then you don’t have ranch dressing as a choice for salad dressing?? Then….the chicken parmigiana flat bead was basically saltine crackers with rubber American cheese and chopped up chicken strips, OH with HUGE chunks of green onion bulging out from under the plastic cheese. Then the shrimp cocktail cup was mostly ok. Then the meat sauce for the spaghetti, well….had no meat, so there was that. Then the marina sauce was so sweet it was barely edible. The hard sesame seed breadstick things with a pat of butter we’re the highlight on the table. I cannot believe this place has fine dining in the title. VERY disappointed! Didn’t even attempt dessert, because I didn’t want them to ruin cream brûlée!

I love Barclay’s. It’s always a treat when our family can go when I’m back in Montana. While the prices may seem high, they are actually so reasonable compared to what you’d pay at a steakhouse in a bigger town or city. And you get a ton of food, some better than others, but the experience is half the fun. On our latest visit I had the filet and it was PERFECTLY cooked. I got it with the garlic and mushrooms and it was the best meal I had had in a very long time. Worth every single penny just for the steak alone. Love it! And the service and the people are amazing. Give it a shot if you’re in town and want a nice dinner. UPDATE: New location but the food and service is just as amazing. Just had a steak in Vegas that was double the price and not even half as good. Absolutely worth the stop for a meal.

This is our second time at the hotel and our first time at Barclay’s. What a little gems! The staff looks like local teens who are nothing short of professional without losing their youthful enthusiasm. The food! I was not expecting food like this from a small town restaurant attached to a great hotel! My half cut tenderloin was so good I didn’t want it to end. I kept cutting the pieces smaller and smaller to make it last. Totally worth every penny! Can’t wait till we come back next year.

Was greeted when we entered. They had someone clear off a booth for us (3 people) in the bar area. Another couple came in and the boy that was instructed to clean table off then tried to sit the couple that came in after us. I spoke up and said table was for us and he wasn’t sure then what to do. The couple questioned if we wanted to actually sit in the bar area (we had child with us) then said we were there first and “let” us have the table. We were given plates, silverware, and water. We waited a little over 10 minutes for our waiter to come by. No introduction just “what do you want”. He took our order and another 10 minutes went by before someone else brought out our sodas that were flat. Our waiter never came back to our table until our food was done. $62 for an 11oz steak that was super thin, fatty and well done when I requested to be cooked medium. The crab leg that came with the steak was good per my kiddo. Not sure what little plates were for but assume we were supposed to be served bread since other tables had some but we didn’t. We finished eating and never had anyone check on our drinks. I didn’t drink mine so I guess it didn’t look like I needed another. I was in the restroom when waiter came back and took our spaghetti to be boxed up. I kid you not we sat there for well over 10 minutes waiting for our leftovers. Eventually the boy that had cleaned our table walked by and we asked what was taking so long. He eventually appeared with our leftovers but we didn’t see the waiter again. The place was nice and clean but attitude of our waiter and the food for the price was not worth it. Even if having a bad day you should introduce yourself not say to your guest “what you want?”. The original...

I honestly can’t tell you about the food… We never got a chance to eat. If it’s anything like when I was a child it’s probably still pretty good. The Moscow Mule was great.

However, if you have any food allergies that could actively make you sick or put you in the hospital, just stay away. ESPECIALLY if you just traveled and are actively hungry.

My husband wanted a New York steak that came with spaghetti and ravioli as part of the dinner. Problem is he has celiacs. So when we asked our server what we could get instead, the server was adamant that that WAS the meal. PERIOD. We didn’t really expect a gluten-free option… As most places never have it. But we did expect at least a slight adjustment… A bigger salad, a free ice cream, a couple dollars off… Because that’s usually the response when they realize he can’t eat half of the meal. Especially a meal that’s $45.

We were told we could do a la cart which would save us two dollars… And give us a third of the food. Because see the entire reason he wanted that particular special… Is because it is the traditional Barclay II, 5-course meal set up. Salad, shrimp cocktail, spaghetti, ravioli, choice of potato, veggies, or fries, and the steak. OR! We could “save” and get a steak and a potato.

Needless to say we left immediately and the man seemed very unbothered about that. Slightly thankful, actually.

To say I’m disappointed in what the service there devolved to, is a massive understatement. Thank god we’re staying at Fairmont. We know that restaurant...

The manager at this restaurant was extremely rude. We heard this place had good steaks, which it did, but we were treated so poorly that it ruined the entire dining experience. Most of our group of 10 ordered the most expensive steak on the menu. It came with salad, shrimp cocktail, spaghetti, ravioli, and baked potatoes. The spaghetti was served family style and I didn’t get any, so I jokingly said something to the rest of the group. My friend held up the empty bowl of spaghetti and jokingly said, “You didn’t miss much, look how watered down it was,” as he proceeded to show me a bunch of liquid in the bowl. The manager happened to overhear, grabbed the bowl and said sarcastically, “I’ll be sure to let the cook know.” She then turned around and said, “but you don’t have to be an a**hole about it.” We were all shocked. We didn’t complain to them. We were just joking amongst ourselves, not knowing she was near. I told our waitress what the manager said and she said, “ok, what do you want me to do about it?” They took zero blame and we all ate our steaks wondering what had happened. We spent $500+ on that meal and were treated terribly. In all honesty, the steaks were delicious, the sides were mediocre and the service was the worst I’ve had. We couldn’t believe someone in that position could treat customers so poorly. That was the first and last time we’ll eat there because of the service,...
