Applegate Farms is the perfect place to celebrate the end of summer. As you drive up, you'll immediately spot the giant, fake cow that signals your arrival. The place is packed in the summer, but the lines move quickly. Since we visited in the fall, the lines were minimal. Before ordering, you can scan a QR code of you could get close to the cashier or take a picture of the flavors listed nearby. Last time, I tried the famous peach ice cream. It was good, but a bit too sweet for me, though my husband loved it. This time, I got the Cappuccino Crunch, my husband had the Peanut butter fudge brownie, and our kid ordered a "root beer" float. Upon tasting the "root beer," we noticed it didn’t taste quite right. The server explained that he'd substituted it with Coke since they were low on root beer. He apologized, admitting he was a new hire and hadn't thought to ask us first. The drink was fine, but we would have preferred a heads-up. Our order also came with some confusion about serving sizes. Both my husband and I ordered Junior size. My junior size was huge, but my husband ordered ice cream was small. They looked completely different. The server had charged us for a root beer float for the kid’s, small cone for me, and my husband for a junior, and when we pointed it out both my husband and I asked for juniors, he simply said it was a mistake but he'd already rung it up. "Oy," was my exact thought. We decided not to push it, since we've all been new hires at some point. When it's busy, the place can be a bit messy, but most people do a good job of cleaning up after themselves. There are no tables or chairs, but you can rest your cups on barrels or sit on makeshift benches by the wooden planks. A word of caution: there are no bathrooms, so bring plenty of wipes since the ice cream melts fast. The servers are very nice and patient. My hope is that the managers will provide better training or be more available so that new hires don't feel flustered to ask for help when they make mistakes.

Having moved out of state quite a few years ago, it was a real treat that my son and I went for ice creams here. Yes, their expensive ice creams are most delicious, and their sugar-free is absolutely the very best anywhere! Being diabetic it's hard to find sugar-free ice cream that doesn't remove the fat also, thus ruining the flavor. Applegate's ice cream is so delicious that I sloooowly eat it so that I can savor each and every succulent spoonful. Of course by the time it gets to the bottom of the cup, it's soft and soupy....Mmmmmm....so good! You can enjoy every kind of flavor and variety of configurations, from shakes to sundaes to splits. Enjoy a delicious topping or good ol' chocolate fudge with malt sprinkles. I sure do wish there was an Applegate Farms in my state. Hmmmm.....but then I'd probably have to walk and exercise more to keep lean because I'd be there every week....lol. Enjoy it, folks. You won't find a better ice cream place. That's why it's been around for so many years.

I’m scratching my head trying to figure out why there are such long lines to go here for ice cream!?!? There was only 2 workers working tonight, and it was a long wait for ice cream that wasn’t even good! I sampled the strawberry cheesecake which wasn’t good. Then asked for a medium size cup with peanut butter fudge brownie and yellow cake batter ice cream. I also asked for one chocolate covered marshmallow and one dark chocolate coconut cluster to go. First off, the ice cream had a ton of tiny ice chips in it! The flavors weren’t that great either! The yellow cake batter did not taste like it at all! I think she gave me the wrong flavor! This is definitely NOT premium ice cream! Then, when I opened my bag of chocolates the girl did not put the chocolate covered marshmallow in my bag, but instead gave me a milk chocolate graham cracker! The chocolates were just ok not worth coming here for that either! With all the great dessert stops in the area why come here!

Love this place been coming as a kid for many years. I have introduced many people to this place. The many things that do bother me which I will list them for a quicker review post. The owner needs to take that great profit he is making and buy better spoons that are not flimsy and cheap that don’t bend when you scoop the ice cream. Let me tell that I have ruined numerous shirts eating with those catapulting spoons that will flick ice cream all over you. They just need to invest into a real bathroom with sink and toilet. Come on they have the budget and I hope the owner sees the value in keeping his customers safe and comfortable. You really need to hire a cleaning/Power Washing company. You have sticky juice from ice cream everywhere and nasty gigantic spiders, moths, centipedes, pretty much feels like a bug 🐛 🕷 🐜 museum and don’t forget about all of charlottes webs 🤗 which I love that movie 🎥!!! 4.need to patch giant whole in ceiling which is an easy access point for any pest (raccoons, rats, you get the idea). 5.inside floor needs a deep clean and all the freezers need to be updated or cleaned especially around the rubber gaskets, they are 🤢 nasty.

Over all the ice cream is great but the bad out weight the good so I have to give them 1 ⭐️ star. They can easily be a 5 ⭐️ but the owner needs to invest at least 50k for a remodel, honestly I think others will agree with me...

Listen have no doubt this is a good ice cream place with a nice back in time atmosphere.. One of my best memories of moving to our house in December 1995 is sitting in these people's parking lot at around 10 pm the only ones there in our car and it snowing eating they're ice cream. The Ice cream is 👍 But getting old I stopped eating Ice Cream and switched to the scoop type frozen yogurt. So I've been coming here for around 25 years ish. The one topping Sundae and Banana Split at those very very high prices doesn't mix..High price and miserly does not go together. A Banana Split is supposed to be multiple toppings..a tour de force of Ice cream. And it's all kids serving you instead of paying a living wage to an older motivated guy that serves people as if it is a sport. But as I say this is a good ice cream place with good ice cream.. But the last couple of years of pandemic that vanilla frozen yogurt has not tasted right.. something has changed and it's not for the better..it consistently tastes old and overly icy..I keep ordering it in my Medium Sundae buried in hot fudge but I sure would it going back to the previous...
