Sugar & Spice Laura's Delights — Restaurant in Montgomery City

We stopped in on our way to a tournament. The place felt crowded even though there was only a few people in the place. The menu boards were not clear on the food options. When asked questions, the lady working there was not very friendly. We got sugar cookies which were very nicely decorated. We got a couple cupcakes that the wife seemed to like. There was also a sausage, egg and cheese biscuit that took maybe ten minutes to assemble. At first my daughter said it "wasn't worth more than four dollars" but after eating about half of it said "it wasn't worth whatever you paid for it" then threw the rest away. Based on the attitude, atmosphere and difficulty in understanding what was available, I didn't order anything for myself. Twelve dollars for two people today isn't too bad for a snack. I think three stars is fair but might be a little high. I have no plans to darken...

It's always awkward when you come in with the only downer review for a place that is so highly rated, but it is what it is. I stopped by to get a sandwich last week and after the unfriendly, uninterested 'welcome' by the cashier, I decided to get a couple of sweets and scram. I purchased a vanilla cupcake, a glazed donut and a white chocolate macadamia cookie. There were lots of glazed donuts in the showcase and it was late in the afternoon, so I thought it would be dry, maybe old but it was pretty good. The cupcake was dry and the cookie went straight to the birds. Old tasting, dry and flavorless. I also wanted an espresso drink but the "my machine is broken" how about a cold slushy drink? Really? On a 30' day? No thanks, I went to Casey's and got coffee there. It's a cute little joint, but obviously strangers are not welcome nor...

So disappointed! My daughter-in-law ordered a cake and cupcakes for her wedding from Laura. On the day before the wedding when she picked them up she was asked immediately "Did they send you with money?" Seriously? Who says that? How unprofessional! No box for the cake. It had 3 bubbles and a hair in the icing. When asked to fix her mistake she was rude. She did give us another cake but we had to pick it up the day of the wedding and it wasn't even the same flavor. The cake was dry and the cupcakes were awful. No flavor. I had a few guests tell me how dry the cupcakes were. The icing had no flavor and was hard as a rock. I live here and will probably make some people mad by posting this, but this was unacceptable and very unprofessional. We will not be doing business...
