Let's get right to the point.
â˘Taste: I'll start with the good and go downhill from there. BEST GELATO EVER! Wow! Small variety, but bold and stunning flavors. The coconut gelato was perfect and the caramel banana was to die for. Drinks. I had a raspberry-vanilla Italian soda and it was mixed perfectly. The beer, ciders and wine available were diverse! Big, quality selection of favorites and locals. No tap, but I was impressed anyway. Salad wasn't bad. Fresh mixed greens, no iceberg. Rye croutons, perfect amount of carrots, tomatoes and cucumbers, and the family size was enough for three adults. Good house dressing too. Pizza. Ordered a Sweet Italian and Chicken-In-A-Grass-Skirt. Looked like brick oven pizza, didn't taste like it. The crust was done well, but lacked flavor. Hardly any sauce to speak of on either pie! I tried to taste just the sauce, but couldn't. Sliced sausage lacked potency and the cheese was plain old mozzarella; should have been a blend. Essentially, both pizzas were neutral and dull. Fresh pineapple was a pleasant surprise and a hint of coconut was nice. Chicken was also unseasoned. FLAVOR PEOPLE! Because it's a local shop and uses fresh ingredients, I'd still go with it over a chain, but I've been to New York and Chicago. This ain't even close to great.
â˘Presentation: Beautiful! Despite two teenagers making everything, it was all nicely presented. Good form, tasteful appearance, neat and clean. The placement of ingredients was meticulous and visually appealing. Good job!
â˘Service: Hard to gauge. It was extremely busy and the servers were flustered. I never heard tell of a refill on my drink, but they were dedicated in every other way. Happy? No. But more than willing. A good server could have handled the entire restaurant on their own. They had two, but could barely keep up. I'm betting a slower day would have offered excellent service.
â˘Price: Fair. No reason to complain here. Reasonable within its market and affordable enough to do once a week for a middle class family.
Good little shop in the middle of nowhere. I'd go out of my way to drive here if the pizza were more flavorful. I may visit just for the gelato. If they learn more about cheese blends, are more generous with their sauce, and kick it up a notch on the seasonings for the meat and crust, they'd have an award winning...
Read moreTHANK YOU Troy, for having HIGH QUALITY PRODUCTS and AMAZING EMPLOYEES!! We couldn't have pulled off more of a PERFECT employee appreciation lunch without your contribution! Tony and Gabby were a GREAT TEAM and executed a FLAWLESS SERVICE and we're VERY FRIENDLY, even though we picked on Gabby for her name because she didn't talk much! LOL We could all tell they were VERY EXCITED about working for you and PROUD of the products you offer, telling us about other menu items and various other pizzas we should try! Our owner even asked if you have Thanksgiving options, to which Tony suggested the lasagna, so I am hopeful to have the opportunity to work with you again!! Feedback was ALL POSITIVE from the employees I had a chance to speak with, including one young man who stated "I don't even really like pizza but that was DAMN GOOD!!" Oh....and the Pepperochini dip...to die for!! Please feel free to use my comments publicly as you see fit and if you ever need a referral, I would be honored. I believe we are cutting checks tomorrow so my only concern at this point is....how long it may take me to try EVERYTHING on...
Read moreI visited last evening with my boyfriendâs family. The pizza was delicious and decent size one large was plenty to split between two people. I have to give this restaurant three stars because after traveling about 30 minutes to this location my 4 month old needed a diaper change, when I go to their bathroom to my surprise there was no changing table. At least 3 employees saw me headed there with my hands full, no one bothered to let me know. I wasnât going to let my baby sit on a dirty diaper so I was forced to take him outside and change him in our car in 90 degree weather. When I was through my baby and I were sweaty and muggy and our whole experience wasnât great. If this restaurant was more family friendly it would definitely get 5 stars. So if anyone has a child in nappies, hope for the best, that the donât need a change while you are eating your...
