First, let me say that to have a Thai & Sushi restaurant in such a small, remote town like Monticello is amazing. My wife and I love Thai food.

Pros: It's close (for those of us that live in the area). Both sushi and Thai food is very delicious (had the firecracker and hurricane rolls, drunken noodles, green curry, nam tok, and satay). Not sure where they get their fish for the sushi, but it was surprisingly fresh!

Cons: Prices seem excessively high. Wouldn't be an issue if the portions were larger, but they are surprisingly small. They opened only a few days ago and it seems like they have a lot of kinks to work out. Waitresses seem unfamiliar with the menu, orders get backed up, orders get confused, etc. Most restaurants usually have background music to fill the void, but when we went, it was awkwardly silent.

Honestly, most of the cons can be worked out with time, but I don't see them coming down on prices, which is unfortunate. Instead of this potentially being a regular, maybe even weekly, place for us...it has to be once in a great while that we will go. Still great that we even have this place here and I hope it succeeds. We just...

Stopped in for some sushi, I would say was very delicious! Pretty pricey. I get sushi often in California and you get more roll varieties or the same for a lesser price. Also, sashimi is $15 for 3 slices other places you get 8 or 9 pieces of assorted fish. Which the menu said $10 for salmon sashimi but when I was checking out she pulled out a menu and it said $15. I looked back in my IG story and it said $10! They automatically added 18% gratuity which I thought was unfair. They sat us and we waited a bit in between ordering water and our meals. No one stopped by to refill our water, ask if we needed anything or give us any napkins. Service was terrible I hate to admit. No one came to take the 2nd order I said I was going to place to go. I walked up to the cashier to place my 2nd order and after sitting back down I went back to ask when I can pay. Boba was delicious as well. I may try a second time but not...

Excellent thai food! A hidden gem in the small town of Monticello, this restaurant would stand up to thai restaurants found in big cities. We ended up eating here two nights in a row. Highly recommend! NOTE: My stellar recommendation is for the thai half of the menu. The sushi was only mediocre, though satisfactory, but I highly recommend ordering the thai food.

Kao Soi (5 out of 5) - This northern thai dish, a rich creamy coconut broth with noodles and crispy fried wontons, is not usually on thai menus. So when I see it, I order it. And it was excellent here.

Pumpkin Curry - Another hit, a rich red curry with kabocha squash.

Drunken Noodles (5 out of 5) - Rich, spicy, fat noodles packed with umami flavor.

Tom kha fried rice - Another excellent fried rice dish with that lemongrass and coconut...

I was surprised that this place was in Monticello. The inside is a simple restaurant. It looked like it was an old barbecue place. Nice and casual setting. I ordered golden tofu which is their deep fried tofu and when it came out it smelled like KFC which had my mouth watering. My entree was something that I've never known about, even though I've been to several Thai restaurants and ordered different dishes. It's called Jungle Curry (Kaeng pa). It's a type of Curry that has no coconut milk. The flavor was something I never experienced but for some reason was really familiar. The service was normal. Courteous and knowledgeable servers. I would recommend this dish to anyone who wants to try something new. I live about 2 hours away, but this is a place I would drive those 2 hours to eat again.

Not good. All came in plastic containers with paper bowls and the curry seemed microwaved. The green curry was bland with very little spice. Arriving in a plastic microwave container with the lid still on, wasn't a great start either. Wasn't expecting what I get in Thailand, American Thai is great too, this was neither. The sushi was just horrible. I could have practically used the rice as a golf ball it was so hard and large portioned. The Salmon was almost red, most is colored, but if it's so cheap they can't even color it right, scary. Also doesn't help it comes in a plastic bin like at the grocery store, just 3x the price. Service was just ok. Atmosphere was nice. The Clorox wipes for kitchen/bathroom on each table was odd, maybe cheaper than hand wipes?
