Health and Sanitation Complaint – Monticello, MS Pizza Inn
Dear Pizza Inn Corporate Team,
I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding a highly concerning sanitation and customer service issue I experienced at your Monticello, MS location.
While dining at the restaurant, I observed the manager on duty engaging in multiple unsanitary practices. The manager was handling the cash register, touching doors, and moving around the restaurant without washing their hands or wearing gloves. When I politely asked for more lettuce at the salad bar, the manager became visibly frustrated stomping, mumbling, and proceeding to the salad bar without gloves.
More disturbingly, the manager grabbed the salad container with bare hands, opened the back door, walked into the freezer, retrieved a bag of lettuce, cut it open, and used his bare hands to transfer the lettuce directly into the salad container. At no point were gloves used, nor did the manager wash his hands throughout this process.
This behavior is not only unprofessional but a serious health code violation. Food safety and proper hygiene are basic expectations for any restaurant, and this experience was beyond...
Read moreI have come here for my entire and have always been pleased; however when I came on 6/13/22, I was disappointed. Not in the service, our waitress was so sweet, but I feel that she did not have proper management on staff to help her. I ordered a 5-pc wing and was not told of an increase in price until I got my ticket (which by the way was DOUBLE the price on the menu that I was given). My sister and I both ordered small pizzas — my sister ordered half/half. She was charged for a small and got a medium— not a problem. However, she was also not told that a small couldn’t be done half/half. She was undercharged, and I was overcharged. I realize the price of things have increased, but the increase should be told to the customer PRIOR to ordering and reflected on the menu given out. Not told when questioned regarding the difference in price on ticket. Just very disappointed in the manger and the lack of care to make the situation right. I would have gladly paid the price had I been told of the price increase, but very disappointed that I was misinformed and the situation was...
Read moreEDIT 10-09-21 Unfortunately, we will no longer be doing business with Pizza Inn due to a lack of customer service. We had planned on getting 3 of their party pizzas for a birthday party on the 8th, and were told by the store manager that all we would have to do is call ahead or come in at least 24hrs prior to let them know so they could begin prep. Which is completely understandable. Well, two days prior on my way to the grocery store, I stopped by to talk with them about it... I was told by Tammy, the assistant manager, that she couldn't "authorize it and that I would have to call to speak to the manager himself." It was a combination of her lack of customer service and the tone of her voice that has driven us away from doing business with them. Luckily, we were able to still get pizza from a small, local business for the party. I know they were very grateful for the business.
It was pretty good! (Much better than Pizza Hut or Domino's.) The employees were incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment we walked in the door. Unless something changes, we'll...
