A&W Restaurant — Restaurant in Montrose

I have ordered the deluxe burger from A&W for years and it has never come with cheese on it, which is the way I like it. It's been awhile since I've got lunch there and I thought it would be a treat since the prices are a little high for what you get. This time it had melted cheese which is hard to scrape off. I look at the receipt and it states that i ordered a deluxe (cheese) burger. I called them thinking that they gave me the wrong thing. They said that all the burgers have cheese on them unless you say not to add cheese. I don't know when this started but I am glad to know now.

The reason I only gave 3 stars is that the burgers over the years have gotton smaller, and prices are higher. The hamburger was a little over done and not as good as it used to be. However the onion rings were good but a lot fewer this time.

This is a combo A&W and Long John Silvers. We were all impressed with the expediency of the staff, their friendliness, and the quality of their food. The restaurant was clean and orderly, and everything we needed for our meals was within reach. I would rate them with 5 stars, except one tiny portion of my fish was not fully cooked, leaving the batter wet in that area. The rest of our food was cooked to perfection though, and this would be my new go-to for LJS, if I lived in the area. Also, on a side note, the attached Humdingers was terrific when it came to snack pastry selections. They also maintained super clean, great smelling restrooms. (That may sound like a weird comment to toss in, but those that travel know the rarity of a clean, fresh smelling restroom. It smelled like coconut lime verbena and...

A&w and Long John silver's are together here. I got the cheese curds which were good. I ordered fish and hush puppies. Hush puppies were good. The fish on the other hand it was good but it was soggy and when I picked up the bottom piece of fish there was like a lot of the coding with soggy and stuck to the bottom of the play that they put it on. I had already driven away and didn't feel like turning around and going back. But I ate it pretty much right away when I left. I know one another visit they forgot part of my order and I didn't know until I got home at that point from the same location. Doesn't really want to make me go back...
