A Hidden Gem Worth the Trip – Scalini Fedeli, Montville NJ
I feel truly blessed to have a high-end, fine dining restaurant like Scalini Fedeli right in my backyard. For those who don’t live nearby, it’s absolutely worth going out of your way to visit — this place is a rare find, combining elegance, incredible food, and warm hospitality, all at a reasonable price thanks to their prix fixe menu.
Chef Michael delivers culinary perfection with every dish. One of my absolute favorites is the shrimp appetizer — perfectly cooked and served with a delicious mustard sauce that’s just unforgettable. The pasta offerings are all outstanding, but we always gravitate toward the fusilli, which never disappoints.
The entrées are just as impressive. Whether you prefer meat or fish, you’ll be delighted. My personal favorite is the red snapper, which is prepared beautifully every time.
The ambience is another standout feature — warm, romantic, and intimate. It’s the perfect setting for a special evening, whether you’re celebrating something or just want to enjoy an exceptional meal in comfort.
The service is top-tier. Every server is friendly and attentive, and special shoutouts go to Beth and Elder for making each visit feel personal and relaxed. And then there’s Alex, the host — a truly gracious and kind individual who makes every guest feel welcome and valued. His warmth and professionalism set the tone for the entire dining experience.
If you’re looking for a romantic night out, a memorable dinner, or just want to treat yourself to impeccable food and service without the sky-high price tag, don’t even think twice — come to Scalini Fedeli. You...
Read moreWe were two couples celebrating our 57th Anniversary (both married on the same day in the same year). We've eaten at the finest restaurants all over the U.S. and the world and have had no finer dining experience than our Anniversary dinner. The service was impeccable, The food, indescribably delicious and the atmosphere quietly refined. It was a weekday and not very crowded so the chef began sending some small plates, gratis, to our table for our comments. What can I say, his grandmother's anchovy bread was outrageous (didn't taste fishy) and the penne with pesto and buffalo Mozzarella was the same. There was so much food we all took home a large portion of our main course. My wife had the lobster tails (extra), took one bite, said they were the best she's ever eaten but couldn't eat another bite so those came home for next night's dinner. What else can I say. Not the cheapest meal but for the cost the quality, preparation, atmosphere and service could not be beat, even where we celebrated our 50th at The Inn at Little Washington, a 3 Michelin Star restaurant that cost us 3...
Read moreCame here for my birthday and Beth our server was amazing! It was a prefix menu with a set price. The substitutes are there for a small fee. The bruschetta was amazing! The prosciutto was great too. The zucchini was amazing. Garlicky, crunchy not very spicy! I skipped the Parmesan because of the vinegrette. I HATE seafood but omg the smoked salmon was amazing it tasted like bacon! I was shocked! The bread was great. The garlic bread had a bit of spice kick to it. The fresh tomatoe mini pizza thing was my favorite. I got the porcini mushroom and my husband got the vodka! Both were to die for! So full of flavor and rich. Forgot to take a picture of the shrimp but that was also amazing! I got the steak and it was ok. Nothing special. The fries were delicious. Right amount of crunchy and salt. My husband got the pork chops and I LOVED it. It was my favorite. The lime sorbet was okay! Wasn’t crazy about the desserts but my husband liked them. Hence the 4 stars because I didn’t eat or like the dessert items. I would 100% come...
