GK's Red Dog Tavern — Restaurant in Morris Township

We always LOVE Rod's. However, this time they sat us in the Red Dog Tavern for lunch. The ambience is like sitting in any dark-wood bar in the world, meaning nothing special. We are used to the fabulous décor in Rod's and were underwhelmed. There was some confusion between the 2 waitstaff persons as to who was taking care of us; they were both ok, but it led to poor service. Our first server forgot one of our drinks, which was ok, but then she disappeared. After quite some time she eventually took our order and then never returned. The food came -- and that was delicious -- but no one ever came back to ask if we wanted OR needed anything else. Another server finally came back to ask if we wanted coffee. Desserts were wonderful, but again we were consistently ignored until we were presented with the check. I was embarrassed because i had told my guests about the wonderful service we were used to at Rods. We'll definitely go back to the main restaurant, but will not return to...

Upon arrival my boyfriend and I , we were sat all the way in the back in the corner. Being African American we took that offensively. So we asked to be moved somewhere else. The atmosphere of this restaurant was not very welcoming to us. People were staring , and we asked for bread when the waiter took our drink order. I noticed a couple who came in after received there bread and we still did not. When the waiter came back I told him about what I saw he apologized and brought the bread. The rest of our experience was uncomfortable, yet the food was great. The customer service and how they treat African Americans needs to change. We spend money just like everyone else !!! Rude, rude, rude!!! This is a very un friendly I am in town for work. Wanted to have a couple of beers at the bar and order dinner. Based on bar tenders recommendation I ordered the chicken. After a half an hour, I asked if my order was in. I was told “you had three beers and sat here for an hour, then ordered the longest thing on the menu to cook, and are asking where it is?” The bar was not busy, and really didn’t not know it took so long. I was merely asking status. The bartender jumped on me like I was asking when Covid would be over WOW!!!!

Sorry, these people should learn something about being simple cordial to others.

I only went here because I was staying at the hotel next door. Nice hotel bad...
