Country Saloon — Restaurant in Morton

Absolutely phenomenal experience at The Country Saloon in East Peoria, Illinois! I came in craving some comfort food and left completely blown away by what might be the best chicken dinner I’ve ever had. The chicken was cooked to absolute perfection—crispy golden skin on the outside, juicy and flavorful on the inside. Every bite felt like home-cooked heaven. The sides were just as impressive—fluffy mashed potatoes, rich gravy, and classic green beans that tasted like grandma used to make.

But what really put the whole experience over the top was Sam, our waitress. She was friendly, fast, and knew the menu like the back of her hand. You could tell she genuinely cared about her customers. She made us feel like regulars even though it was our first visit. Her warm smile and top-notch service were the cherry on top of an unforgettable meal.

Stopped in on our way to Doctors appointment in Peoria,and glad we did. Nothing fancy, but certainly homey, very clean and comfortable. Our waitress/ bartender was as pleasant as they come and efficient. The wife and I both went with the tenderloin and fries (they have a pretty good looking menu overall) The food was timely, fresh and very tasty. Food was excellent! There were plenty of items on the menu that sounded goog, but I finally decided on the tenderloin. It came out and was cooked perfectly. It wasn't dark and crunchy like some other places. The hand cut fries were great as well. I only saw one person working the front. She was the hostess, bartender, waitress, and server. Even wearing so many hats she was prompt, friendly, and attentive. Pricing was extremely reasonable. I would definitely go back and try some of the other items...
