We stopped in a little before 8 PM. There was one young lady and, what appeared to be, a manager (wearing what looked like to me a mint green business shirt) and two grill workers in the grill area conversing & laughing.
The young lady crossed over from drive thru through the front counter area, grabbed lids, and took them to drive-thru, then she approached us at the counter. I don't have a poker face, so I am sure I looked aggravated. Later I told my husband, "She could have said, 'I'll be with you in just a moment.'" Perhaps she'd had a long day. She did have a pleasant attitude when she greeted us.
We ordered our meals, which included a double quarter-pounder with cheese, no salt on the meat. I know quarter patties take at least five minutes. My husband ordered a apple pie, which the young lady offered to make (12 minutes), and I told my husband they didn't have cookies, either. She said she could make those for us, and they would only take 3 minutes. We all laughed.
We had ordered our fries w/out salt. She explained she was the only person working the front (drive-thru & counter) so she asked for patience while she dropped the fries for us; there were three baskets ready to drop when we entered, so she was planning ahead. That's good initiative, and she also didn't sound angry or resentful when she said she was there alone.
She took our orders correctly, offered to make what wasn't available (which is rarely done), and when I said we hadn't made it clear our order was "to go," she apologized for not asking. And, she was pleasant when I asked for a glass for water to accompany my caramel frappe'. She is the reason you get four stars for service as well as your other scores being what they are.
And, the men in the back, well, someone was making the food, but, they were still conversing and laughing. My husband and I still had many hours left to go to get home, and we were tired. When we got our bag, we almost ran to our car to buckle up and get moving again. We didn't examine our sandwiches.
The fries were wonderful, crispy, and golden. We have had restaurants dip older fries back in the grease to "rinse"/"wash"/"bubble" some of the salt off, and we've had restaurants snatch them up before the timer and give us a mixture of undercooked, still frozen and a few cooked fries.
My filet-o-fish sandwich was correct. The problem was my husband's double-quarter. When he handed me his last fourth to break up and feed our dog, one patty was cooked, the other was barely cooked on each side and was dark pink in the center. I said, "This is almost raw, and you ate it!" He said it was all right, but it's not. I had the same thing happen recently at one of our local McDonald's, twice, during the same meal. And it's gross. I just hope my husband...
Read moreThe so called manager here had a MAJOR attitude when my family came in. We stood far from the counter while viewing the menu. She acted bothered that we weren't ready to order. She then told another female employee that "she needed to come to the front because she was not gonna be waiting on counter orders." The employee that came to take our order just stared at me, no greeting, no customer service. This young girl also had a very unbecoming attitude.
We were only passing through on a 3000 mile drive across country. I asked for the general managers' name and she refused to give that and also refused to give me HER name after she stated that she was A manager. I believe she refused to give me her name because she realized the horrible service she had given me. She didn't even bother to ask what's wrong or how she can assist as manager. Since I do not have a name I can give a description of this employee. She was a Caucasian woman around mid 40's with neck length black hair and glasses.
She acted very indifferent towards me when I asked for bbq sauce for my daughters chicken nugget kids meal (there was only 1 in the box for 6 nuggets). She had major attitude when handing me ONE more. I also had to ask for a lid for the large drink as there weren't any stocked. Again she had major attitude. To be in management whether gained from experience or having a degree she really needs to work on her customer service skills. This location really needs to get better management to help the morale of...
Read moreI just need to make a public shout out to Keishia (probably got the spelling wrong sorry) but we blew a tire on our camper just north of the exit at Mound City Mo and ended up pulling into McDonalds. Needless to say it is still over 100 degrees outside and we didn’t have the right tools. I went in and asked if anyone had it as there were trucks in the lot and I assumed someone might have it. No one did. She was the only female on duty and she volunteered to call her mother to see if they had it. They did and not only did they have the tools we needed her family changed the tire for us and gave us addition information to help us on our way. We lost one of our daughters last year (September 7) and have been trying to make more memories as we now know more then ever how precious life is. This certainly wasn't what we expected but so thankful for Keishia not only doing her job but she went well and above! We are ever so grateful as we called for service and it was going to take 3 hours!!! (the soon to be 2 year old grandson that was with us isn’t THAT patient) To be honest I’m not a big McDonalds fan but because of her above customer service I will be stopping at Mound City Mo McDonalds when we are down this way just because of her! Once again THANK YOU, you was an answer to our...
