We are traveling back from Dallas taking a quiet scenic route, and we catch a junior high football game. While at the game we meet Kevin-grandpa, Luscious-son and Connor-son whose game it is. The 0-2 Jayhawks are now 1-2 because of a first half blow out where the lead was 42-6 at half time. Go JAYHAWKS. No need to watch the second half, our presence hyped the young lads to a victory, lol. We drive 2 minutes from the field and come upon Mi Ranchito Cafe, what a surprise! While entering Rulber and Anna, the owners unbeknownst to us, are steps behind us. Our wonderful waitress Amber, seated us and took our order. Rulber, my wife and I struck up a casual conversation, which turned into a lot of laughs from different topics. Rulber personally made sure my meal was prepared to my dietary taste, and boy was it good. My Mound Burrito was shrimped out and looked just like the picture on the menu. Thanks to all the crew at Mi Ranchito, Rulber, Anna and Amber for treating us so well. Rulber we'll see you in KC at the new location...
Read moreThis is the fifth and final time we will visit the Mound City location. We visited at about 1:00 on a Saturday afternoon. A young man finally asked if we’d been helped and we said no, he said he’d be right back. Waited another 10 minutes as we watched the server go back and forth dropping off chips and beverages to other tables never asking us if we’d like anything to drink. After almost 20 minute wait we walked out. The service is horrible, almost non-existent. We visit other locations in the Overland Park and Olathe area and never have these issues. How the Mound City location has stayed is business is beyond me. The owner should be...

Service is a role of the dice depending on what server you get, some of them do the bare minimum and barly refill your chip and drink. Making you wonder if you should even leave a tip at all when glass sat empty over half the time you were there. Other times the server is really on the ball and keep your drink and chips and sides fresh.
Seem the older servers on average (not always) do a better job. And the younger servers in high schools is a gamble.
But everyone over all is nice and friendly so in a pass fail situation id...
