New China Restaurant — Restaurant in Mount Arlington

A great little traditional Chinese restaurant - delighted at how accommodating they are with their ingredients - they will make some more traditional Buddhist options without meat or meat broths upon request - great hot & sour soup - love mein - tofu & broccoli - etc. - and I'm addicted to the cold noodles sesame sauce - it is, though, mostly a take out place - there are a few tables for dining-in, but even if choosing to eat there they serve your food in take-out containers - it would be great if they invested in at least one set of dine-in place settings - still, though, a delightful little find. It is also impressive to see the family that owns New China all working so beautifully together. Absolutely terrible customer service! They were so rude on the phone to begin from the beginning. I placed my order for pick up, once I got there I paid for my very pricey order and took it home. Once I got it home I unpacked everything and immediately realized a few things were missing. I called to address the issue and the lady on the phone insisted I never ordered the things that were missing. I know FOR SURE I ordered them because the man repeated my order back to me when I placed the order. They stayed on the phone and argued with me for over 15 minutes until I gave up and took the loss on the food I ordered and paid for. DO NOT EAT THERE, they do not care about their...

Since I am allergic to Sesame I initially called them first to inquire if they cooked with Sesame Oil, I was told NO we only cook with vegetable oil. Their website also states " We Use Only Cholesterol Free Oil For Cooking" SO I THOUGHT I WAS SAFE.

After looking at the menu I called them back to place my order, I ordered the chicken chow mein combination dinner, I AGAIN ASKED if this combo contained any SESAME, again I was told NO, SO AGAIN I THOUGHT I WAS SAFE....In less than 2 hours I was in the EMERGENCY ROOM WITH AN IV IN ME DUE TO AN ALLERGIC REACTION !!!.

So if you have any food allergies STAY AWAY BECAUSE THEY LIE...
