Pizza Express (Mt. Arlington) — Restaurant in Mount Arlington

Second time ordering.. I only ordered from here because I received a good coupon in the mail. First time I order I got one large plain pie, and one pepper and onion. The pizzas came pretty fast and the driver was super nice. I gave him a good tip for being so friendly and very fast at the delivery. However, the plain pizza was very poor. Super soft bland watered down crust and bread, the cheese was melted but tasted strange. The pepper and onion pizza I ordered was all the first pie was plus hard to chew peppers. The onions where huge slices so difficult to eat . When trying to find a place to eat this evening , we normally order from Anthony Francos, but decided that’s the coupon pizza express gave us was a better deal and cheaper, well this time we order the plain pie, and it was the same, also ordered to subs with cheese, it was more like two loafs of cut bread stuffed with lettese and like two slices of turkey. There was nothing to it. Very disappointed. I order subs from every pizza place And never had such poor quality. If we had the ability to go higher than 5 stars, we totally would! Pizza Express Mt. Arlington is our favorite pizzeria and we order from them on a regular basis. My husband and I each have a staple item we place on every order - chicken noodle soup and wings with extra sauce. The soup arrives hot every time - hot to the point where you can still see the steam. His wings are also nice and hot, fully cooked, super juicy, and always smothered with the right amount of sauce. Another staple with each order is one of their desserts; a cannoli or an order of zeppole - both are absolutely delicious. The rest of our order consists of a rotation of other flavorsome items offered on their menu. We really appreciate the variety and have never ordered an item we did not like. To top off the wonderful experience with our food, delivery is also always a breeze. The drivers are always extremely friendly, polite and professional. Pizza Express has completely lost my business. The way they run things is shady at best. Prices seem to change depending on who you are and what mood they’re in, almost like they cherry-pick who gets treated fairly and who doesn’t. I’ve ordered takeout pizza here multiple times, and every single time it feels like I’m being overcharged compared to others. It’s ridiculous to pay more one week and then see someone else charged less for the same exact order. When I asked about it, I got nothing but attitude and excuses from the staff. No consistency, no professionalism, and absolutely no respect for loyal customers.

The food itself is nothing special certainly not worth the inflated, inconsistent prices. Honestly, the shady pricing and poor customer service ruined the whole experience for me. If you want to be treated fairly and not feel like you’re being singled out or taken advantage of, skip this place.
