Not quite what we expected given the name. First and foremost, the restaurant was spotless. 5 stars there. The server. Yeah, the server. Started out ooookay, no self introduction, but she was quick to tell us that there was no fryer food (good on her). I asked for a glass of Reisling, which I received, however, there was cork fragments floating in my glass. NOT little pieces. I pointed the issue out to her...(it really never should have left the bar area) (perhaps she was not properly trained?). She brought out 2 salads as opposed to 3 and proceeded to say "you ordered asparagus", (he actually ordered a salad with blue cheese). We got an "oh, I be right back". Her demeanor was rude to the point where we actually had to ask her if we had done something to offend her. She said no. We asked if "we were all good", she said we were. Her demeanor slightly improved. We were the only 4 top in the place. The food, while plentiful, was mediocre at best. I really pains me to write something like this, but as a retired restaurant manager, attention to detail is key. There were only 2 tables when we left...I'd love to have seen it full. If you don't know about it, it can't be fixed. Maybe Katia/Kahla was having an off night....she should've taken the night off. No passion for her position. We did still tip her $35.00...

I’ve been in the food service and hospitality industry for 25 years and by far this has been the one of the worst experiences ever. Complete lack of common sense and server 101. First appetizer was a plate of onion rings, which was half the size of the second plate, which only arrived as the entrées did. Two soups were ordered, but only one was brought out as an appetizer second one didn’t appear until after the server was repeatedly asked four times for it after the entrées arrived. if you have to cook your burgers well done because of health codes then please make it known to the customer ordering instead of serving them a hockey puck, which is barely edible. The first drink I ordered was not available due to being out of stock. Why wasn’t there a server meeting to let everyone know what they have and what they don’t have instead of making the customer order something to not have it and wait for the server to come back and tell them that they don’t have it. Also If the customer asked for an item not to be put on their plate, whether it be for food allergy or intolerance or just don’t like it make it so it’s really annoying to ask someone to not put something on your plate and then it comes out with it, and the server ran their own food the same person who took the order repeated back. Please...

We happened upon this place & we're so glad we did! What a gem! We were finishing up a day at Bar Harbor & Acadia N.P. We pressed the fork & knife button on the rental car GPS and it brought up this restaurant. We were hungry and it was the closest. So we headed in that direction. When we arrived it was a little earlier than their 430pm posted open time, so we walked down to Seal Harbor beach for a bit. It was within walking distance. Our server was delightful, very sweet and attentive, refilling our water glasses multiple times. We ordered the seafood chowder and stuffed mushrooms as appetizers. They were a little slow coming out, but both were delicious! The amount of seafood in the broth was like nothing I'd ever seen before! I ordered the shrimp and scallop Juliet and my boyfriend ordered the broiled halibut. His came with asparagus and potatoes (at his request). I had a side salad included with my pasta dish. I wish I had taken photos of the entrees! The portions were fantastic! My dish had amazing flavor and was packed with so much seafood and vegetables that you could barely see the pasta! All and all, it was a lovely dining experience from start to finish. I would highly recommend...

We were nearby and hungry, so decided to give this a try. It ended up being a solid place. We got fried calamari, wife got a burger, and I got fish and chips. Calamari came out fairly quick. Good amount of it and good taste, not rubbery. Was a small wait before entrées came out. My fish was cooked well. Very moist and had a good fry. Was a little bland, but the lemon helped, as did the tartar sauce, which had a really unique but nice flavor. Fries were actually very good. Coleslaw was great. Burger was good. No real complaints about the food. I feel like the price of the fish and chips was a little on the high side, but I did get a big piece and it all tasted good. Plus, everything in Acadia is expensive. We could've been checked on a bit more by the waitress and had our water filled (I had to ask after it had been out for a bit) so that would be my biggest complaint. Not a bad spot if you are nearby and don't wanna have to drive elsewhere.

We loved this place! Found it on a recent trip to Maine. It's not fancy, not pretentious, looks like a well loved pub/restaurant. But DAMN, everything we tried was spectacular. The fried calamari was so very tender. My husband said the burger was one of the best burgers he's had. I had the seafood chowder which was loaded... LOADED with shrimp and scallops and fish. It was so tasty. I got the bowl and it was huge. Our server told us to come back to try the lobster stew/chowder. We took her advice and came back the next day! We both got the lobster stew. If you are ever here, YOU MUST GET THIS STEW! It was creamy and buttery and so loaded with lobster, I couldn't believe my eyes. I am craving it right now. I wanted to tell everyone who came in the restaurant to not even look at the menu and just get the lobster stew!! Our server was so sweet and fun. I wish we lived closer. We'd be at this place a couple times a week!

While this was our second choice for tonight's dinner, it was one of the best surprises we've had in Maine so far. Bartender Jason was busy but very attentive to all his guests and proved to be knowledgeable about everything on the menu. He recommended great local beer and delicious meals for the family. Children's haddock was tasty and delicately crunchy. It was also the biggest kids meal I've ever seen. We adults had the creamy, tender seafood platter on a puff pastry (sorry, forgot the name) and the juicy, lightly grilled halibut (you can also get it blackened with Cajun spices). Even the bread was fresh, crunchy, yet soft and served with scrumptious home-made honey butter. The portions were huge, but we fought a good fight and finished everything. Prices are expected to be higher but it's not a high end restaurant. Instead, I would call it a cozy, well-decorated bar where locals and regulars come to meet.
