Bamboo Garden Restaurant — Restaurant in Mount Holly

DO NOT EAT HERE!!! If I could give -0 stars I would! The lady who runs the register was in the kitchen when I came in. She was fixing food. I was ok when I saw her with a glove on the hand she was handling the food with thinking when she came out she would take off the glove and throw it away. Not the case. She came out with the glove on touching the counter and other bags sitting there and asked the name on my order and went back to the kitchen. While in the kitchen this time I see her stoop down, with a bowl, and with that same glove on grab raw chicken out of what looked like a small refrigerator and put it in the bowl. Yuk! As if that wasn't gross enough she dropped a piece of chicken and to my surprise picked it up off the floor and put it in the bowl with the rest! Now I am livid!!! Then she came back out of the kitchen with the order I was waiting on wearing the same glove! She touched the cash register, and counter with that same dirty glove on. When she went to hand me the order I said do you not know that you have cross contaminated every thing you have touched with that nasty glove on? I went to order chicken wings but I initially wanted 5 wings. I tell the kid(literally 11 or 12yrs old) behind the counter that I want 5 wings and rice. He tells me no. I ask "can I not order 5 wings". He says "3". I am clearly looking at the menu that has the price for an order of 4 wings. I point it out to him, then he looks at an older gentleman who may have been his father. And then he looks at a hand written menu on the wall. He then says "you can have 4". I ask again "if I can have 5 since it appears that it is NOW ok for me to have 4"....the kid looks at the older gentleman and then says "no u can only order 4". I have NEVER been to a Chinese restaurant that did not let u order as many as ur willing to pay for. Needless to say I went to China II off Highland St right next to Food Lion and Subway behind Dominoes. Not only did they accommodate what I wanted....they gave me an extra one free. I had 3 different orders and this place, Bamboo Garden, was willing to let money walk out the door. Bad business ethic if u ask me. China II was happy to accept my 3 orders. Please avoid this place with their odd rules smh. I only went here to try some place new because I always go to China II. I will never make that...

This place is really good! I consider myself to be a foodie for sure. After moving to the Charlotte area, I tried many different places that serve Chinese food and have been extremely disappointed in the places I've tried. To be fair, I moved from a city that had several high quality Chinese restaurants. Well, I recently tried Bamboo Garden and OH MY was I happy that I did. Their dishes are freshly prepared and the ingredients are of excellent quality. The people that work there are very kind and they care about the food that they serve. Ive not yet found a dish that I dont like. The rice is perfectly cooked and seasoned and the proteins are not fatty scraps or imitation like you find in some places. They pay attention to detail and ensure that enjoy your meal. Best of all, their prices are very reasonable. If you live near Bamboo Garden or are in the area, I highly recommend that you stop in for a meal. You...
