11/21/2021 (see pic dated 11/21/2021) THE PORK RIBS ARE MEATY AND TENDER! As I walk toward the entry door of this place, the sight of smoke escaping in the air from the fenced in outdoor space makes this place seem authentic. I hope the smoke is from a charcoal bar-b-q pit like from my childhood. Although, the sauce is too salty for me. I prefer sauce that is sweeter with a little spice to it. I also ordered a fish sandwich which they forgot initially. I caught it because I CHECKED MY ORDER BEFORE I LEFT. They immediately provided the fish sandwich after I asked about it. I like this place more for the fish than the ribs.
9/28/2021 Visit The fish and greens here are good This is a take-out only place and they often fail to answer the phone. The hours of operation change frequently. For example, I learned today that they are not open on Mondays and their hours of operation are shorter than what I remember, as I have frequented this place for many years. Maybe the hours change like this because of the pandemic. Catching this place open can be a challenge but if you do it is decent soul food. SUGGESTION: when closed or too busy to answer the phone, send the calls to an answering machine that can let people know the UPDATED HOURS OF OPERATION and that you are not taking orders by phone. Ask the phone company. I am certain they can help you set up something like this. To me it is the least this business can do to serve a COMMUNITY that has SUPPORTED it FOR DECADES.

Read moreLast timre i got a bunch of bones for rib tips with little meat,this Tuesday went to get rib tips dinners the meat on the end of the rib couldn't chew it ,the tips some look like strips, if you say rib tips then that's what i expect,not end of rib i cant chew and my other quest wasn't pleased with there dinner either coleslaw is not good at all coleslaw was horrible and nasty,upgraded to some better coleslaw please, i was just upset with my dinner didn't eat it all i been going to support woods for year but if my rib tips gone look like that am going to have to find me another bar be que place,hardly no sauce on meat,do better cooks, with the rib tips please,shrimps need to be ate before they get cold cause if not all your shrimp breading coming off need to be cooked a little bit more and when you put them in the box make holes so they wont be soggy and sweaty also let some of the heat out and steam am going to try other ribs and i will let you know how there's taste,just need to inprove...
Read more1/3/23: Found a metal something in my greens. See picture. I’ve tried so many times over the years to overlook some things woods does but I live over an hour from here. So I come hungry hoping to get good soul food. They raised there prices… I get that but now metal in my food. They’ve lost my business this time.
Update: 2022 Mac and cheese is watery and tastes like can cheese and the greens recipe has changed as well. I have had the rib tips twice lately and they have been awful. Fish is still on point. No longer consistent and that’s kind of disappointing. I’ll still come here when I come to town.
