Down On Main — Restaurant in Mount Vernon

Thanks for letting me know, as I said I will give a second chance but the first was sketchy at best. It is important to communicate with all staff the details, after asking to look at the menu(after being told the kitchen was closed). I was offered pizza or wings. The $5 was brought up after the food order. Thanks for clarifying I always support local so you can expect that I will return. Your timely response is greatly appreciated.

I arrived at 10:45 after a show and was told the kitchen was closed. I asked to look at a menu and was then told I could get pizza or boneless, nice girl, mistakes happen. Then I was told $5 cover charge, okay, again, it is what it is. Band was good but I came for food the band was playing the last song. I look at my watch it's 11:08. This has to stop cancel the food, I am not donating to a band that I do not get to see, I am not paying $5 or buying food. The overall experience is terrible. Band 5 people, 3 servers, myself, 2 guys at bar and family of 4 with an 18mos old baby. Numbers are not to good. Cute place. I will try again a different day not many options int Vernon, hope...

As a frequent visitor to many bar & grill settings due to my music schedule, I was absolutely amazed from first time I arrived at the selection of food, pricing and drink selections from the soda to adult beverages. Even though it's rooted in a historical building, the owner did a great job updating it just enough to keep the charm of the old town feeling. The staff is fun and always looking to keep your table or bar seat serviced. Mel was one of my favorites because she's a talker just like me. And I can't forget Mya who wore a toolbelt for the drink specials. That's the kind of atmosphere most want and I found it right there at Down On Main Bar & Grill. Considering the fact it is a grill, the cooks always do a great job handing the rush of big crowds too. I would recommend anyone traveling the I75 corridor or visiting the Renfro Valley area stop in for some great food, live entertainment or just a good ol' cold one. I'd give 10...

Pretty good but dont order the sliders maybe i should've asked but normally when you order sliders atleast I dont expect a bad knock off of white castle burgers thin as cardboard. my wife ordered the pulled pork mac and cheese but the pork was way overcooked having the consistency of cat food which i admit could've been affected by it being very busy at the time. My friends food was pretty good though boneless wings, chilli cheese fries, and the Adam burger. Which i admit the Adam burger sounds weird but my friend let me try it and it absolutly works amazing.
