Half Moon Saloon — Restaurant in Mount Vernon

Three of us in the party and 2 felt their food was good. The server was good and kept drinks in front of us. The atmosphere is typical bar atmosphere but very clean. The one meal wasn't very good but I probably shouldn't order pasta in a bar even if it is the special. The Cajun Shimp over fettuccine wasn't only lacking and Cajun flavor, it was lacking seasoning completely. Not even a spec of any seasoning on it. The shrimp didn't even taste like they had salt. The pasta was edible after adding a lot of black pepper and some parmesan. Most of it stayed on the plate. Had lunch at Half Moon today and we were so pleased with our food and server. Salad bar was terrific with crisp lettuce , and lots of good, fresh toppings. Hubs had burger and said it was perfect and other hubs had club , which he said was great and lots of meat. We ordered some tots, crunchy just how we like them and some kettle chips were good. It's been a minute, so updating my review... Not a single thing wrong with service, staff, or product today. Lots of good food here, but loving the steak sandwich. Staff is so friendly and helpful. I've moved away from drinking much these days, but I can see fish bowls getting delivered to tables that are as frosty as a snowman's a$$, lol. There's not a whole lot going on in Mt Vernon, but Half Moon hosts a number of events (I enjoyed trivia the other night). Can't complain...
