KFC — Restaurant in Mount Vernon

Headed there for the buffet after a long 6 hour drive only to find out it closed a couple minutes prior. Watched as a full buffet was thrown out only to be greeted to a 20 minute wait because they were waiting on our 5th!, yes 5th tender. Are they cooked individually? I finally went up to the counter and just asked for my 4 tenders since my wife and I were waiting watching as it sat losing its warmth. When my son later asked about the 5th tender, the young man at the counter replied "its going to be awhile" if I wasn't extremely hungry, it would have been escalated there at the store. No sense of urgency to our order even after the issue was brought up. My wife ended up asking for a biscuit since we still never got the tender.........update- because the chicken was as described by every other review as dry or just not of normal KFC standard, it's left my wife and I having upset stomachs...... from both ends. I hope we didn't get any kind of food poisoning. At least the slaw and Mac was ok......or so we think. If this is consistent with anyone else's experience, why hasn't corporate done...

People were nice there's a cool Kernel sanders statue on a bench if you want to take funny pictures. The food was awesome except the chicken lol. The original wasn't crispyenough at this KFC it was almost like they didn't bread it at all and they didn't cut enough fat off the chicken so when you ate it there was some super fat grizzle parts. I worked at KFC when I was 15 and KFC is suppose to have the ultimate perfect fried chicken. The last few years they've been slacking and not only have they been slacking on their quality of fried chicken in the process of making it. KFC made there fried chicken over priced. I was super excited to see 3 sides, biscuits, and an 8 piece chicken meal for 20 bucks. That price is fair to the middle class that want to eat KFC all the time :). So God bless you KFC hopefully you bring the Royal Oak Michigan KFC back one day and keep the prices fair and the quality...

Our family had been traveling on the road for the past 6 hours and wanted to grab some food. Throughout our entire trip, each public facility including restaurants have used safety measures in wearing masks. This KFC had NOT ONE employee wear a mask. No gloves or masks in preparing the food. My mom and I noticed and asked for a refund since we didn't see anyone behind the counter with a mask. The manager went ahead and did a refund but not without informing us that she felt the COVID-19 virus was only for people who had underlying medical conditions; the mask only allows people to breath in their own carbon monoxide and that's why it wasn't required for her and the staff to wear a mask. Wow, we were stunned she was telling us all of this when she held no medical or science degree while dipping chicken in grease. Tell that to the 600,000+ Americans who lost their lives...
