We were traveling home from our time in Grapevine for Spring Break and we stopped in this AMAZING restaurant!! Everything from the time we checked in to the time we left was absolutely PERFECT!! The wait staff was very honest about the food delay due to the busyness ( I believe I counted maybe 3-4 baseball teams today eating)and kept us informed the whole time. (The wait for our food wasn’t even that long). Every worker was well mannered and very helpful and respectful. Then we noticed a guy that was consistently walking around the entire time we was there and he was helping and cleaning and doing anything and everything he could to help. Naturally, we was curious so we asked if he was the owner and our waiter said yes sir BUT not only was he the owner, he was a retired NBA player and our little boy found out and wanted a picture so naturally we asked our waiter and the response he gave us just made the day and the entire trip. He said of course he would take a picture BUT, he just left a little while ago to go to the baseball field, now I’m not sure if he had a grandchild or any relatives playing or if he was just going to support the teams that are in his restaurant but no matter what he stopped and went. Definitely remember this place and will definitely visit again on our way to the Dallas area and on...
Read moreour first time trying this place and was super excited about it, we were greeted by a tall blonde haired man can’t remember his name, we asked for just a minute to look at the menu since we haven’t been before, we sat for 15mins waiting for him to come back. it wasn’t super busy he just seemed focused on other tables and not us. by the time we ordered my fiancé got a hot honey ckn sandwich and i got the blackened corn with some mash potatoes (because I wasn’t super hungry) my fiancé said the sauce that was on the sandwich tasted like balsamic vinegar and nothing like hot honey so we don’t know if we got the right sandwich. after we were done with our meal we wanted desert, we proceeded to wait another 20 minutes before he came by to check on us and we finally got our desert which was the funnel cake sticks, they were cooked to perfection probably the best we’ve had. when it came time for the check he told us the total proceeded to wait until we paid and we didn’t get a ticket to see what we bought. he also kept calling my fiancé (sir) over and over again when clearly she is a woman so it made us feel even more out of place. I dont write reviews or complain, I also am a server but that was probably the worst experience of my life. (also to add, we saw the host way more...
Read moreMy husband and I decided to try out the Bistro/Cafe at ML Edwards for the 1st time on Valentine's Day (when they are open Thursday evenings for Happy Hour) Altho not very busy, wait staff was nice and attentive, decor and atmosphere pleasant (kinda rustic/turn of the century mercantile store/Farmhouse) We ordered crispy egg rolls, (not pictured) they were good, fig & prosciutto crostini (very good but crostini/bread could have been toasted much more) and the street tacos sampler (tacos were good, put the pineapple salsa on them, they were a little dry) but would have expected homemade flour and/or Tortillas instead of dry store bought, it definitely would have elevated this dish. Since it was Valentine's Day, they served complimentary champagne and homemade chocolate cake, which was nice and the cake was very good! Did feel "house wine" was over priced for such small glasses. (Living in cities like Austin & Dallas, its nice to find a place like this with more quality menu items vs all the fast food and little restaurants that only serve fried, junky, processed, unhealthy food items in small towns) Overall, we both really enjoyed our evening and food. We'll definitely come back, love to try out the brunch items on a...
