Rebel SmokeHouse and Burgers — Restaurant in Mullens

Amazing! A restaurant in Mullens that actually makes great food! I was quite concerned about the residents around here claiming that these so called restaurants in Mullens actually made good food, then I tried them and I was appalled by the quality and flavor of the food. However, Subway is like the standard of quality around here, which is an entire other discussion. As a resident formally from another state known for 5 star restaurants that cost you a small mortgage payment to feed a couple, I am absolutely speechless when it comes to the Rebel Smokehouse! Hands down, the best food that I have tasted in a decade. The meats were juicy and truly infused with that true smoke flavor. After getting takeout 3 hours later, I had to microwave it to warm it up and I couldn’t even began to explain the amount of moisture that was still existent. My partner and I are BBQ aficionados, always on the lookout for good BBQ, because honestly it is hard to find a place that hits all the notes: value, sauce selection, flavor, variety, meat quality, service and environment. Rebel has it all and far exceeded our expectations. As far as we could tell everything is done in house. When we mentioned to out server it was our first visit, within minutes the owner of Rebel was tableside to welcome us and guide us through the menu. Who does this anymore? When my partner ordered the homemade banana pudding and asked if it was layered with vanilla wafers, our server said she could make it that way and when it arrived she apologized for the short delay because they had to run out and purchase the wafers to accommodate the order. GREAT BBQ!!! My son and I drove from Fayetteville, WV to eat dinner here. We heard such good things about the Rebel SmokeHouse and Burgers. They were right about this restaurant. It has home cooked, authentic bbq and other foods. We started with the smokehouse nachos with pulled chicken AND the homemade pork rinds. Then we moved on to the sampler platter for two. WOW what a large portion of food! You will NOT leave empty or wanting more. They are such nice folks there too! We are definitely coming back! The drive is worth it!!!
