Date of visit: July 21, 2023 Easy to spot as you drive through the main strip coming into town. If you are looking for dinner, this basically is your only option as the other restaurants are not open for dinner. It is basically a bar with a restaurant attached (or is that a restaurant with a bar attached?). As the only restaurant open for the dinner hour, they were busy and there were only two waitresses (also playing roles of busboy, cocktail waitress and cashier!). Food was good; typical supper club fare (if you know, you know). In our party we had a burger, top sirloin and fried cod. The last two items came with soup of the day (homemade tomato which could have been better if emulsified), choice of potato, dinner roll (which waitress forgot to bring out and we had to ask for), trips to the salad bar and a one scoop ice cream sundae. Prices range from approximately $15 - $28. Given how busy they were and short staffed, service reflected this. Waitress was friendly, just busy! Cook must have been overwhelmed as we had to wait a bit for our food as well. Again, given it is only place in town open for dinner, the small parking lot was fairly full. If you deem this review helpful, I would love a 👍

Solid for being the only place open, the kitchen obviously loved cooking the food they make and the waitress did a wonderful job getting the food out when it was hot and super tasty. It's typical dinner food, but the care in the preparation was real. My chicken fried steak was super crisp and hot and the pepper milk gravy was rich with pepper and flavor and exactly the right constancy for the solid mashed potatoes. My husband's buffalo burger was cooked the way he liked it and the toppings were fresh. The French fries were glorious, with the skins still on and thick but still crisp and just got from the oil. The waitress was the only one there at the dinner hour, so service was understandably slow, for all that she really knew what she was doing. She was also really friendly and helpful when she could be

Seriously, this sweet little town is losing a restaurant per year. The Rusty Spur and Star Restaurant are no longer. Hubby and I rolled into town and stopped by this establishment. We weren't particularly hungry so we ordered the ham and bean soup with a side salad. The soup was literally water with great northern beans, diced ham and probably a bag of frozen mixed vegetables. I'm used to a ham and bean soup being thick, smoky and hearty. The ham is supposed to be so tender it melts in your mouth. This ham was crunchy. I also am used to cornbread on the side with a boatload of butter. We got saltines. 😳. Salads were fine. We also had an icy cold Blue Moon. Our server was fantastic! I hope this sweet little town rebounds. The natives are fantastic. Hotels and food need updating.

Stopped here because it was recommended. Food was good but boy was the waitress (middle aged, short dark hair) RUDE. She must have told us and others a million times, “it’s just me and one cook. It’s gonna be slow.” Ok, I wasn’t in a rush, but she was nasty. Downright nasty. The old gentleman who sat next to us was obviously a regular and was drinking wine. He asked for another glass - Cassie (might have been her name) brought ketchup. He told her that he asked for wine. She went to the bar and told the bartender she didn’t know what kind he wanted and she didn’t care. Yikes. Slamming plates. Two other diners wanted dessert that came with the meal; she rolled her eyes and stomped back to the kitchen. We Had to get up and pour ourselves water and tea refills. Ah - skip this place and go eat gas station food. And to the waitress: I really hope you find some joy in life.

Almost forgot this: she snapped at people who came in with a service dog. First she asked them to prove it was a service dog, then she Told she she didn’t like dogs and they could...

The food wasn't great but the server's attitude is why I'll never be back!. Shortly after we seated ourselves she stomped over and demanded to know how many were in our party, two of us were there but waiting on four more. She walked away without taking a drink order. Meanwhile a table of 10 seated next to us asked if there was egg in the buns. She shot back with, "I don't know. I assume there is!" They all threw their menus down and walked out. She didn't say a word to them. We waited about 20 minutes to get our drinks. When she took our salad bowls she took the dirty used forks in them and slammed them back down on the table telling us we might need them. We had ordered chicken strips and sandwiches. She never once checked back to ask how everything was or if we needed anything. She seemed to be angry that...
