I called this hotel at 1:16 a.m. on 9/20 trying to book a room for Friday night (9/19) since it was after midnight.
The woman asked what direction I was traveling from and said they had one room left. I explained to the woman on the phone that I was driving from the east headed westbound on I-90 and had just passed a town called Presho. She told me I wasn’t far and would “be there soon.” I offered to provide my credit card since they only had one room left, but she declined and continued asking which way I was traveling. At no point did she mention that I had already passed their town entirely and was heading the wrong direction.
My phone died shortly after I spoke with her which is why I was frantically trying to secure lodging. With my phone dead and no charger, I tried to stop in Chamberlain but every gas station was closed. Eventually I made it to Kimball, where I learned from a Love’s employee that Murdo was 60+ miles behind me. I certainly wasn’t traveling back over an hour in the opposite direction. By the time I was able to locate a charger and charged my phone, I had a voicemail from “Brad” at 8:16 a.m. Brad left a message implying they had “held the room all day/night” and that I was a no-show, even demanding I call back to work out the ‘logistics.’ I wish I could attach that voicemail here—it completely contradicts the facts.
When I called Brad back to explain, instead of any understanding, he was rude and dismissive. He told me he could have rented the room “five times over” (though I find it odd, since I called after 1am when they still had one left). When I stated this to him, he then hung up on me mid sentence.
This whole experience was incredibly frustrating. Thankfully she declined my card because I would have paid for a hotel that was behind me already at the time I called to inquire about a room. Had the woman on the phone simply clarified my direction and told me I had already passed Murdo, It would have saved so much confusion and stress.
I cannot recommend doing business with an establishment that communicates this way or treats potential customers with such disregard.
Extremely poor communication and even worse customer service. If this is how they handle late-night travelers, I’d strongly suggest taking your business elsewhere.

The best part about our stay was: the fly swatter they will loan you for the killing of the unbelievable amount of flies everywhere!!!!
Disliked · Were do I begin?! We were shown two rooms and they both looked just the same, and NOTHING like the ones shown online. Don't be deceived by the front office, which is pleasant looking because the rest of the place is two clicks about being a dump!!! The old, dated carpet (when we killed fly's - couldn't find them to put in the trash on the 1960's style carpet), no hand towel racks at sinks, curtains that barely worked (hubby had to almost pull them from the wall to get them to close, and when finally closed they blow out over the AC unit blocking it), no safety bar in tub, dirty (hairs and specks of toilet paper on bathroom floor), wall AC unit that constantly changed speeds all night, and the general run-down condition! BUT the "best" part is they they charged $217.00 to stay in this place, which at best should be $69.00 a night! We stayed at nice Holiday Inns the night before and the night after, at $179.00 per night for new, clean, well-maintained rooms! I'm no snob, and stayed at several other "mom & pop" places on our trip that were like a Ritz Hilton compared to the Range Country Lodge, because they had all been updated, were very clean, and in great condition, and get this, paid under $100.00 per night! I don't know who is writing the reviews for them that state 'exceptional" and other glowing comments, but it must be their drunken relatives who is...
Read moreWe stayed here for one night of our vacation. We arrived around 10pm after a 14 hour day of traveling, so it was nice to have a quick check-in. The front desk associate was friendly and welcoming. Our room was on the first floor, and there were many entrances to use close to the room which was nice because that gave us more parking options. The room itself was spacious and cute. It had a cowboy theme complete with cute cow quilts on the beds, chairs with steer on the fabric, and cowboys on the lamps. What we especially liked about the room was that there was a second sink/mirror right OUTSIDE the bathroom. This was wonderful for our family. One person showered privately while another was able to still get ready for bed. The only reason I gave the hotel 4 stars and not 5 is because the air conditioner had a musty smell coming from it. We turned it off after a few hours because of the odor. It was a bit warm, though, and we would have preferred to have it on. The beds were super comfortable, though, and I loved the pillows--personal preference. The free breakfast offered was fine. Not quite as many choices as larger hotel chains. They had eggs, sausage, toast, cereal, OJ, and yummy little cinnamon rolls. The mini-cinnamon rolls were a real treat. The attendant kept everything well-stocked, so no one had to wait for anything. All went well, and we...
