Driving from Hendersonville TN. To Atl GA. Wanted a Salad. This place came up as best reviews near where we stopped. Love to support my people. I saw iceberg salads in the photo reviews and I don’t want Iceberg. Glad they have Kale-I chose Kale base. I love that all of the toppings free. A sign says no photos or videos. Their dressings are made in house-wow. Tomato Basil dressing is delicious. Pineapple Bliss didn’t work as a salad dressing for me (my opinion). It’s hard to make all those dressings from scratch so I’m very appreciative and impressed. unique dressings & large portion. Ordered catfish sandwich also and fries. Catfish on light bread wasn’t the best neither were the fries to me (my opinion). We couldn’t eat it. Perhaps it’s the basic fryer. The fries taste like they are coated in fish fry dust. I was sad because I love french fries. The salad was a bit wet already. I prefer a more dry and cold, crispy and crunchy green leaf. At 11am on a Wednesday the slaw wasn’t ready yet or any of their signature teas. Bummer. Didn’t have kale… she was about to leave the store to go get some…so we switched to spring mix to support them. Salads were $17 and fish and fries was around $16 also. The prices were not listed, I thought that’s odd. I believe that this place can get an instant lift by upgrading the seating arrangements, tables/chairs, the building, the plants, the paint or the scent inside. Food took about 45 minutes. Restrooms could use a lil touch up but it was accommodating. Music inside is great. Salad dressings are $4 for the extra because it’s homemade and quite large. They should put them in smaller containers to sell for less $$. if you wanted to try a different one, you may not for $4, but you might for $1. The tomato basil dressing is tasty but it’s a bit oily, in which I understand oil is a salad dressing base. However, Extra virgin oil is preferred and with the amount of oil I saw I questioned the type of oil used here.
To the family working this store, you are doing a great job by making it to this point and being in service to the people. Please, take these points as tips for improvement as it’ll only make you more $$. Continue to improve. Love your business name and concept. I could’ve said some of these things but there’s an unwritten rule to not say anything negative to the person making your food. Plus typically you wait til after eating to write a complete thought review. If the food is amazing, I adjust certain comments that’s why I waited. Being personal to your reviewers speaks highly! Read moreIn the process of leaving this review, I got lost in the flavor of my salad and had to take a break.
I hadn't eaten a salad as a meal in a while, so when my friend recommended Salads on Demand, I did not know what to expect. The staff inside were more like family than workers, and that made the experience very enjoyable. The ambiance of church music and sparkling interior decorations were a nice touch to fit for the dazzling faces that greeted me. Dee took my order, and she was very patient and attentive to what I was saying. The process to order took around 3 minutes.
There was a variety of combinations to choose from, but I chose the Spring Mix as the foundation, the sliced chicken and sliced mushrooms as the meats, radishes, tomato, and broccoli to fill it in, and almonds, avocado, cheddar cheese, and croutons to top it off. I also added the Ra'Talian dressing and Sprite Tropical Mix to drink. My total came to $15.56
The food took a little over 10 minutes to prepare. The presentation of the food was spectacular. I could clearly see everything that I asked for in an orderly fashion. Once everything was packaged, I left for home to eat the salad with my friend. I took the first bite, and oh. my. goodness.
The taste was impeccable.
The salad was absolutely delicious. The chicken was flavorful, the croutons were out of this world, and the dressing brought everything together. I could tell that they value quality and preparation when handling food. I could barely get through half of it because I know I want something great for later. It was surely worth what I paid for it, (and quite possibly even more).
Overall: 5/5 Would order again and I for sure would...
Read moreI’m on a very low-salt diet for a serious health situation, so eating out is hard for me… I mostly make food at home. But I’m passing through Murfreesboro, and that’s not an option. So… I looked for the healthiest, most low-sodium place I could find… SALAD!
The guys were SUPER NICE and really helpful. The salad was a bit expensive ($23) — a similar made-to-order salad where I’m from at most delis/corner stores is about $10. BUT no worries, it’s not cheap to run a small business these days, and I was happy to support this place.
I took the salad back to my hotel. When I opened it, and was about to pour the Balsamic Oil dressing on, I figured I’d taste it just in case Balsamic Vinegar and Oil dressing somehow had salt added to it. At Salads On Demand it does. It must be soy sauce. I wasn’t happy. Balsamic Vinegar and Oil by itself is great! No need for anything to be added. BUT if it is added, the great label on the huge container should say: “ingredients: balsamic vinegar, oil, soy sauce, and other spices.”
Soy sauce is a huge source of sodium. It’s almost an entire day’s worth of sodium for normal people in just 2 tbsp (1800mg). I have to keep each meal between 200-300mg of sodium.
Anyway. Please consider adding the basic ingredients to your dressing labels (esp for the Balsamic Oil dressing) or just literally offer Balsamic Vinegar and Oil separately as an option. Some people’s health issues can be really serious, so being cautious is ideal. Best of...
