HoneyBug BBQ — Restaurant in Murphy

It’s rare that I give any business or product 5 stars when doing a review, but these people deserve it! BBQ is one of my absolute favorite foods. I grew up in the middle of NC, so I’ve always been accustomed to vinegar based BBQ. I moved out to the western part of NC a couple years ago where tomato based BBQ is the prevalent style. I tried HoneyBug’s BBQ for the first time summer of 2022, and I was blown away!! In my books, it is seriously one of the best BBQ’s that has ever entered my mouth. And that says a lot! It is finely chopped, but not to the point that it falls apart. It’s always moist and tender, still having its good juices, and not dried out like many other BBQs I’ve eaten in this area. The smoky flavor is perfectly balanced with the flavors of the pork and seasonings that it all pairs so well together. Every time I have eaten from HoneyBug’s truck, the food has been very fresh and hot, and the portion sizes beat the other trucks around town. I usually have some left over for another meal if I’m not super hungry!! Their mac and cheese has become a favorite of mine as well! I also love how they make their own sauces. My favorite sauce would probably be their Gold sauce. I have never been disappointed with the quality, taste, or amount of food for the price. HoneyBug BBQ is the best! We were visiting from out of town and they went out of their way to make sure that we were able to try them out even though they were busy catering a wedding that day. Man, was it worth it! The pork was flavorful, juicy and delicious. The glazed ribs were tender and meaty. Bbq sides usually are lacking but not at HoneyBug. The mac and cheese was awesome with the breadcrumb topping and the baked beans were the best we’ve had in a long time. Amazing customer service to make this happen and I cannot stress enough how good the flavor is. You won’t need sauce for this one but if you do use it, it’s pretty dang tasty. Five star service,...

DYNAMITE!!! Food and services were tip top! I had The pulled pork sandwich, coleslaw, sausage, and cobbler. Just looking at the peach cobbler made me giddy and then taking the first bite literally made my legs dance. The pork was moist and delicious and I can’t say enough about meeting Jason, Michelle, and Michael. Great people making great food in a great place.
