Vicki's Cozy Cafe LLC — Restaurant in Muscoda

Vicki's Cozy Cafe is a smallish diner in Muscoda WI. It offers a full breakfast menu and a surprisingly large selection of burgers. When you open the menu you realize this restaurant has a sense of humor. Among the burger selections are "Mikey's Burning Bunghole Burger," "The Fungus Among Us Burger," and the "Stinky Scotty Burger." I had the "Ain't No Patty Workin' Here Burger" which is a traditional patty melt. It came nice and fresh on nicely grilled rye bread. The bread had good flavor and the onions were properly grilled. The patty was a true medium which kept it nice and juicy. The also offer a variety of fries including regular fries, sweet potato fries, beer batter fries, waffle fries, etc. I had the beer batter fries. Unlike many diners, they made sure to bring my fries while they were nice and hot and fresh. That's important! The service was great too. They made a minor mistake with our food and handled it immediately without any hesitation. On top of all that, the prices here are very reasonable. I highly recommend this place. The food here is great although the service can be a hit and miss pertaining to whether it is good or bad. We have four young children my spouse and I two of which have autism. So how seating works in a restaurant is important for us as a family. In this establishment there is one large booth that is supposed to be for parties five or larger. We went there and it wasn't busy so we sat there with only four of us an1 month old baby and a 2 year old child in company. We were asked to move to a booth without a wall on either side of it. We left that day without ordering a meal. This last Friday September 21, 2018 we went again just my spouse and I and noted the same booth being used by a part that had only four people in it. These ladies were not asked to move however and were able to enjoy their meal. The same amount of people just a different prejudice possibly over the fact we had children although I am not sure. My wife and I were guests of college friends for lunch at Vicki's Cafe on July 11. We were weary. My wife's Dad, age 91, had been laid to rest the preceding day in Fennimore, WI. Although the menu used quirky names for every food item, that did not stop us from enjoying the delicious meal. My go-to food, when visiting a new-to-me restaurant is a BLT. Vicki's BLT certainly did NOT disappoint! Delicious!!! We can't wait for our next trip from SW MO to SW WI... so we can visit...
