Don’t know where to start! Dickey’s normally has good service and good food. This location is not ideal. I drove around the building to use the drive through. Two of the 3 display panels were swinging open and almost hit my car, they also had no literature. The 3rd was old and faded and useless. I should have left. I went inside and saw why. I was totally ignored by the 2 men working. There was 1 car in the drive through and 1 lady waiting inside. I was ignored till they were done. No greeting, no looks, no smile..I was ignored. When I ordered, the man had to turn and look at the menu to see what my plate consisted of. I repeated it 3-4 times. He just couldn’t remember it. He then stopped to again cut meat for the customer in the car. He and the other man just passed food back and forth and watched each other work. No team work to speed up service, just laziness. No gloves were used when handling the extra meat they didn’t need, he put it in the pan bare handed, the man also coughed into the air after turning his head, but still didn’t cover his mouth or have a mask. When I ordered at 5:50pm, they claimed to be out of brisket and to only have chopped. I repeated my order many times, even trying to give them a hint that I needed waffle fries, which they didn’t START making till my order was in the bag and paid for. So I had to then wait another 6 minutes for them to cook the fries. Service was bad, food was ok. This location is just...
Read moreSmoky as we were driving by, and our curiosity got us, did a U turn follow the smoke The first time ever that I pulled out Google to see reviews and recommendations on what to order. Brisket with mac & cheese, fried okra Gentleman let us sample his meats so we could decide on lean or fat and we chose thin layer of cardiac arrest brisket 🤣 Cooked to perfection, someone recommended fried okra and I'm glad I listened... hear, hear! If you have never liked okra for whatever reason, you'll love it now. Fried awesomely perfect, bite size, crunchy, not slimy little taters ..so gûd😋😋😋 you'll want to pop a few orders of these. Place is attached to a gas station, a bit old but cozy. Staff is beyond friendly maybe let go of the plastic tablecloth as it kept sticking to our arms and just go...
Read moreI walked into this Dickey’s on a Wednesday afternoon, not expecting much but a quick, tasty and filling lunch at a great bargain for barbecue these days. Dickey’s has never really been high on my list of must-visit joints; more of a convenience factor. I’ve been eating, cooking and appreciating barbecue, especially brisket, for many years and I feel I know good barbecue. All that being said, I was astonished today. That brisket was superb. Not sure if it’s just this location or across the whole chain, regarding a different cooking protocol, but it was some of the best I’ve had (and I’ve eaten LOTS). Plus, the lady and the gentleman working in there during my visit were incredibly nice and accommodating. Definitely paying this Dickeys...
