For something that should’ve been considered a complete innocent misunderstanding lead into some of the most highly disrespectful behavior I’ve ever witnessed. Including the person who owns the restaurant. We weren’t aware that the take out customers weren’t allowed to use the restroom, which we respected. However after being confronted in such a hostile manor and for us to step out, the waitresses true colors come to show when they think customers aren’t listening and heard some of the most disgusting things they could say about us. Made one of my friends cry into tears & made bold claims if we were to buy anything as little as a water bottle they wouldn’t serve it to us (On a 90 degree day mind you) To the manager, if you read this you’re truly disappointing , sad and pathetic with how you chose to handle this situation in your own right as well. The way your employees handled it as well as you with such level of disrespect was in such poor taste and so unprofessional. In the world of customer service in the food industry as well, it would be such a blessing for this place if you were replaced and all the younger hires were reevaluated. A entire new staff is...
Read moreIt pains me to write this review, but it has been even more painful watching this once-favorite spot take less pride in delivering a decent dining experience with each passing season. Jim’s Dock was once a place where diners could enjoy traditional New England fare that was satisfying and reasonably priced. With the arrival of nearby Matunuck Oyster Bar, one would have hoped that the quality of the food would have at least held steady. Rather, the restaurant seems to have put less effort into delivering a quality meal with each passing year, while hiking its prices to unconscionable levels. Deciding to give Jim’s Dock one last try, my husband and I visited last week only to arrive hungry and leave hungry. After unacceptable wait times, our server - while friendly - couldn’t keep simple requests for ice and salad dressing straight. Quite possibly one of the worst meals my husband has ever been served was the $38 lobster special, with ice-cold stuffing that left him more concerned about getting sick than satisfied. Our advice to future diners: when you pack your own beverage, bring your...
Read moreWonderfully friendly service. Seafood is more than reasonably priced and is fresh and served in larger than average portions. If you're looking for clam cakes or fried scallops, look no further. Cakes are crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside and clams are well distributed in an amazingly flavorful breading. As of the time of this review, the alcohol is BYOB, which allows you to bring your favorite pairings for store-bought prices. The kids were pleased with their usual choice of chicken tenders and hot dogs, hamburgers and tasty "freedom fries" Parking may appear limited, however, a great system of double parking has been set in place with customers more than willing to move vehicles as needed. For the animal lovers, friendly dogs are allowed on the dock.
Highly recommended for all of the above reasons and a great outdoor seating location right above the shoreline of...
