WARNING SHIPPING PROMISES ARE SKETCHY** One star is just too large of a rating for a company who doesn't care what happens to their delivery once it is out of their hands. Priority overnight is handled by Fedex who refuses to guarantee priority overnight shipping during COVID. If a company cares about their customers receiving a fresh, live shipment then they should not use a shipping company that cannot deliver what they promise. I placed my order (which was a gift card from a dear friend) on a Wednesday and they stated it would be delivered no later than 4:30pm on Friday. At that time on Friday my order had been in Memphis at the shipping facility for the entire day. Saturday morning I saw the package had made it to the Chattanooga facility and it never left that facility that entire day. I phoned Fedex Saturday evening and they stated that they could not issue me a delivery date until Monday, at which time the live lobsters and clams would be dead. I asked Fedex to return the package to Lobsterguy because it would be unusable at this point. Lobsterguy refuses to resend a new shipment because we didn't purchase extra "insurance" for the delivery to be re-sent. It is a very bad business practice to promise delivery of a package that requires timely shipping and not making the situation "right" for the customer. You will be sure that this company gets no recommendation from either myself, my husband or my friend who purchased this expensive gift that now appears to be from a company with very poor "business" practices. Update I literally just received this package 3 days late and everything was lukewarm and dead. The package is now on it's way back to Lobsterguy. HUGE...

We have received the clambake multiple times for gifts from our family in New England- every time it was delicious until the last time. I followed the directions exactly-cooking with 11/2 cups water and cooking for 60 minutes on the stovetop . Attempting to eat the lobsters immediately I knew something was wrong with the lobsters- they did not easily peel from shells and claws, the meat texture was mushy, and it had an odor. I went on the website and followed the guaranteed instructions to the tee- took pictures called and left messages and sent an email. The calls were ignored and the email was answered that the captain reviewed and determined they were undercooked and did not qualify for a refund. It is impossible that they were undercooked as the potatoes are the temperature barometer and they were fine. I mentioned that we were from south Jersey and eat lobster all summer long - I know when lobster is bad! I absolutely thought the captain Tim would stand behind his product, upon investigation I saw he had been reported to the better business bureau as well. It is so disappointing that he would not return any of my calls or the emails to discuss further. At that price point - we expected better customer service. I have told all my family not to recommend this product or send as gifts any more because the captain does not guarantee his product as stated on the website. This is the second time I have ordered from Lobster Guy, and WOW! There is absolutely no reason to consider ordering from another purveyor. I do a lot of cooking, and spent time in professional kitchens. I have never seen better quality lobster tails anywhere, right up to the ones we caught in traps retrieved by helicopter in New Zealand and grilled on top of a nearby mountain! The LG tails I received for July 4 were simply perfect. I let them defrost in the sink overnight. You can tell this is a professional luxury purveyor even by the care in wrapping. Equally important, very easy to unwrap! I split, then simply grilled over hot charcoal with melted butter, garlic and lemon, then salted and served with sweet corn, smashed potatoes, and sliced Peter Luger ribeye. You know, it is GOOD to be an AMERICAN! I had ordered 4 extra tails to make lobster salad for lunch the next day and it was the best I've ever tasted. A little fresh-made mayo and lemon and basil.. the lobster just pops and explodes in your mouth - juicy, meaty, still redolent of the sea. These tails are literally what you want lobster to be - they are simply perfect! Order with EXTREME CONFIDENCE - A GREAT...
