We have always heard amazing things about this place for breakfast and lunch, but never could go during those times, so we were ecstatic when they announced they would be opening for supper. I have to say after my my first trip, meh. The food was pretty good. Chicken fried steak was tender and the breading adhered nicely. The gravy seemed to be from a packet but still good. Wife liked her sandwich, and the sirloin steak was okay. I think the biggest thing was my son's steak was done first so it sat in the window for 10 minutes, then the chicken fried steak sat for 5, then the sandwich was finished. Seemed like a strange progression. I understand wanting to serve everyone at the same time but letting meals get cold waiting seemed weird. Seems like better management in preparation would fix that. The atmosphere was also very strange. I guess maybe it's a family feel so everyone just meanders around having personal conversations in the middle of the restaurant. There was someone from the kitchen that would come out and speak with the wait staff and hostesses the whole time we were there. I think they were a dishwasher but not really sure. Another reviewer spoke about the wait staff and their apparent southern charm, yeah must be the day squad. Not that they were bad, just in no way did we feel at home, and maybe felt like we were being a burden. With that said our drinks were full and aside from the way our food came out service was okay. Probably will try it again, but most likely...

Am a long customer. Very disappointed in the food, the atmosphere, and the service today. Always, 100% of the time in past, you were greeted by two people at the door, seated quickly, and brought the best food ever. The service was superb. Not anymore. Went today around 2 o’clock. Nobody was at the counter waiting for customers. It was almost empty. Finally someone came out and we were seated. Waiter was not rude, but not particularly friendly. The portions suddenly have become smaller, ordered chicken fried steak it was soggy, it was at room, temperature, not hot at all. It was obvious it had been sitting, and they just warmed up the gravy and threw it on there. Mashed potatoes were old, and cold. I asked for more gravy, and was told I would have to pay for it. I said that was fine, but the steak was cold. She argued and said that the steak was cooked at the moment the order was turned in. That was obviously not the truth. I overheard that the owner has died, and the son has taken over. This looks like a case of the son needs to remember and honor his father by living up to the same quality that his father served up. What a total disappointment . When we were leaving another set of customers came in, and there was no one to see them. They just went and sat themselves. This place will not stay in business with this kind of service, and this particular kind of quality...

First time I went out to eat with my biological mother since I couldn't tell you when and they did not disappoint. Waitress could've been a little more attentive but it was right when they were trying to clean up from lunch rush and she was busy. All in all, it's a great place to get real food or as much as the ungodly world/government will let us have unless we kill it ourselves which they wanna take away as well and it's gonna happen too. It's all been told over 2000 years ago what was gonna happen and a lot already has so I just pray people open their eyes. Or let God do it because it does say in the Bible that no one comes to the father except through Jesus but you keep reading and it also says we are only saved because God chose us to be his adopted children, those of us that actually believe and don't just say it for recognition anyway. But He wants for everyone to come to the knowledge of Christ but wait here's where these works we were all told about in church being led by a preacher that doesn't truly believe in the gospel either or he wouldn't say the things he says or do the things he does. This world is slipping away and the King is coming! EVERY KNEE SHALL BOW AND EVERY TONGUE SHALL CONFESS HIM AS LORD. Sad part about that is it will be too late according to the Bible I read so if your life is not mostly governed by God then you're not...

We had an absolutely pleasant date night!! April the waitress was absolutely wonderful and kind. The owner actually came out from behind the stove to check on every single table to make sure that everything was made to satisfaction! Very down to earth hometown feel as soon as you walk in the door! And did I mention that the food is amazing!! Grilled shrimp on a bed of rice with mashed potatoes and a side salad was my meal. Chicken fried steak (regular size) with mashed potatoes and gravy and pinto beans for my husband's meal. ****THESE PINTO BEANS ARE THE BEST I'VE EVER TASTED!!!!!**** And we cannot forget the wonderful fried pickles for our starter!! (The picture of the fried pickles was actually taken after we had already eaten half of the basket. What can I say? We were hungry and there were very, very, very good!!!!) This is a definite must go to restaurant!!!!!!!

Adorable little mom and pop restaurant with waitresses straight out of central casting. With thick southern accents they brightly pepper their conversations with “sweetie” and “my dear” so naturally that you’d think you were in a Fannie Flag novel. But more importantly, the breakfast is delicious. Fluffy eggs, thick crispy bacon, Texas shaped waffles and hearty white gravy all are standouts. When the iced tea comes served in a giant mason jar, you know you are in a down home restaurant. Plus the place is dirt cheap! Breakfast for 6 with tip came to just over $60 and we all left stuffed. Will definitely be stopping again next time we are in town.
