I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Picnic Basket Restaurant and I must say, it was an absolutely fantastic experience. This place truly lives up to its reputation as one of the best sandwich shops in the area.
First and foremost, the sandwiches here are not your ordinary sandwiches. Each one is carefully crafted with fresh and high-quality ingredients, making them stand out from the rest. I had the BLT and it was hands down one of the best I have ever had. The bacon was perfectly crispy and the lettuce and tomato were incredibly fresh. But what really caught my attention was the option to upgrade to the BLT Marathon, which comes with a whopping 26 pieces of bacon! As a bacon lover, I was tempted to try it and I might just have to on my next visit.
Aside from the amazing sandwiches, the atmosphere at The Picnic Basket is cozy and inviting. The staff is friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home. The service was also top-notch, with my order coming out quickly and accurately.
What sets The Picnic Basket apart from other sandwich shops in the area is their attention to detail and commitment to quality. You can tell that they take pride in their food and truly care about their customers' satisfaction.
Overall, I give The Picnic Basket Restaurant a well-deserved 5 stars. From the delicious sandwiches to the fantastic service, everything about this place exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend stopping by and trying one of their unique and mouth-watering sandwiches. Trust me, you...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst time trying out this wonderful little diner today. Our waitress was right, we will be back! Found this place because of a much -liked- answer on a āMilwaukee foodieā page⦠so I was expecting great sandwiches (it delivered. Both of our sandwiches were great, and also enormous. It tasted like all the ingredients had been just cut. very fresh⦠and bursting out of the bread). What I couldnāt have expected was to taste a flavor that I have been missing for about a decade. The ācucumber saladā is exactly like something that I used to park myself in front of at every family potluck. I am so glad our waitress decided that we needed to try all three available sides. They were all fantastic, but I found my go-to in the future. We got there right about noon and, while the takeout business seem to be hopping, there was still room for us to sit down in their not overly large dining area. The service was quick (along with friendly) and people ate their meals and hustled out fairly quickly, so the eight tables they have available (& 2 outside) seem like they are actually enough to keep people from having to wait if they want to eat in. My partner asked about unsweetened tea, and we were told ājust brewed a fresh pot this morning.ā That is a very good sign. I also overheard her talking about fresh lemonade that I will definitely have to try next time⦠Along with more...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLove this little place! Just happened across it a few years ago on Google Maps. Needed a bite but not in the mood for fast food. It's a small building, entering into a shop with baked goods and treats, and turning left you enter the restaurant area. It's an impeccably clean place, too.
Excellent selection of sandwiches, wraps, pasta salad and more. Each visit the wait staff is kind & friendly (I joke sometimes "they hire the nice kids in town.") Our meals come quickly, as if a family member whipped it up in the kitchen. In my experience, there's no skimping on ingredients, either. Ordered an 8" BLT and took home half. Everything is fresh and tasty.
(There is a BLT with 26 pieces of bacon you can challenge yourself with. If you can finish it, you win a prize. Someday...)
Chances are you won't be able to leave without getting something in the bakery area to take with you. I can tell you the chocolate layered cake and carrot cake are superb. Get different items, come home and share with each other!
All in all, if you like small town bake shops/restaurants, you can't go wrong here. I just wish we...
