Wow! What a beautiful location in East Nash. We want more eating options here in this area and honestly was quite thrilled to see a new restaurant popping up in my neighborhood. I love Mediterranean food and really wanted to like the food.
I did like the Zataar fries, they were well-seasoned and flavorful. I usually love the garlic dip, it’s always my go-to but this one was super pungent. I’m not sure if it’s a one-off, maybe today was a bad day, but since it was my first time there, I didn’t have a reference point.
I did not like the Chicken Shawarma sandwich that most people in their reviews and the staff there today recommended. The garlic dip was in the sandwich too and between that dip, sauces and pickled veggies, I could barely taste the chicken. I ate half of it and didn’t want to eat the other half. I just took out the chicken and tasted it and it was really good. I wish I had gotten just the side of chicken because the ingredients in the wrap weren’t my favorite. The pita bread looked so fresh and yummy and tasted as good as it looked.
There’s plenty of parking in the lot facing the restaurant. There’s so much sunlight inside the restaurant so eating in was very pleasant. There were a couple of tables outside too. Lovely location and staff were super friendly and amazing. Unfortunately, I won’t be going there again since for me, food is the most important factor for me to revisit the place. I’d recommend trying it once and see if...
Read moreMet some friends here last night. We had a great time! This place is super cute, very clean, and has warm and welcoming staff.
The food was good but not great, but that could also be because we came at the end of their week? Maybe. We ordered a pretty large variety of food, and we ate a ton, but I would say the babaganoush was not what I expected. I am used to a lighter color that's less sweet, which may be a regional difference. It was also odd that the pita/cucumber and babaganoush/hummus are ordered separately. The hummus was decent. Creamy but with a bit too much oil for my friend. The pita was delicious! Light and airy. The eggplant grilled cheese sounds like an amazing idea but wow the eggplant on there was THICK! My friend said it was good, though. My rice bowl with beef has great flavor but was a little dry, even when I added the remaining sauce from the wings, which were the best part of the meal. And they're just a daily special! Get the wings if they come in.
All in all, seems like a great spot to stop for lunch if you're in the area. I honestly believe the dry bowl was probably an off day, and I'd try new things next time. I think I went too basic for my...
Read moreI was really excited to check out a new shawarma joint in Madison. The vibe was super cool and the service was friendly and helpful. Plenty of free parking is also a plus in this area! It was super cool that they had a water station and 2 gender neutral bathrooms. I was really excited about them having garlic toum since we don't really have any Mediterranean in town with that element and the zattar fries with it were a very creative and modern twist that did not disappoint. The chicken in the shawarma wrap was really good but unfortunately, I just didn't enjoy it as much in wrap form. The different flavors in Mediterranean salad with shawarma and pickled veggies are just better experienced separately and the wrap didn't hold up and just wasn't as satisfying and fluffy as fresh baked pita on the side, fresh from a brick oven. It's a great idea and has great flavors but was just a modern twist that didn't work for me. I still enjoyed the experience but will probably just go back to our boring street food type Greek around here for a better value with more meat and...
