If you are from out of town like we were and can NOT find this place, it is in fact located INSIDE the base/softball complex indoor facility!!! It took us entirely too long to figure out where this restaurant was when the GPS told us we arrived and we were simply surrounded by ball fields. I had to go to their Facebook page to discover that it is INSIDE a sports facility.
There is a small sign above the door with the restaurant name, but it's almost impossible to read from the road as your driving and looking for this restaurant. A sign by the road would be a HUGE help as not all of Massa Mia's patrons are local, some are in from out of town and staying at AIRBNB's/hotels or just passing through the area.
Which leads me to my next point: Having a restaurant inside a sports complex where parents sit for lessons, games, practices, etc. is absolutely genius!!!
On our order was burgers, a chicken wrap and the steak meal with alfredo. The steak wasn't cooked properly twice, but the waitress took the meal off of our bill even after I told her she didn't have to. The alfredo was incredible. I've never seen alfredo made with mushrooms- so I simply picked them out. The burgers and chicken wrap were great.
We are a travel softball family, so we enjoyed sitting among all the gorgeous fields and indoor practice area. The atmosphere is very fun- I wish the sports complexes in our area had a restaurant on the spot. We'd drop a ton of money there- haha!
All in all, it was a solid 4 star experience.
I highly suggest investing in a sign near the road to make it...
Read moreMy italian sausage sub was average, as were the fries. My mom's pork chop had good flavor, but it was a little tough. The brussel sprouts could have been cooked a little longer, but they tasted good. The parmesan mashed potatoes had good flavor, but they were a little dry. Neither of us were fans of the garlic truffle aioli served with the bread (which was very good). Also, for some odd reason, they don't serve coffee. The restaurant is a little noisy due to the industrial feel (metal and wood decor), but it looks very nice, especially with the scenic baseball grounds and beautiful Bolivar surroundings. The service was a little below par (food items weren't described well, slow picking up our bill, a couple gaps in checking in), but the server was probably new. We were very warmly greeted by Emily, who continued making conversation and was very pleasant. Prices are a little on the higher side for experience, but they are getting their footing. As I understand it, they have similar setups in other cities, so they aren't new to this game. I just expected a...
Read moreWe booked a private work party here. Numerous people passed by the entrance, as it isn’t lighted, despite being on a very busy road. We were seated upstairs overlooking the baseball training portion. It was loud and distracting with kids running everywhere. Granted, it was our fault for choosing this environment for a private party, it’s just an odd atmosphere for an Italian restaurant. It seems more appropriate for a sports bar, including menu of that sort. There appeared to be better areas in the establishment to seat us as a private event. The food was very disappointing. The portions were small for the high price. I ordered a mandarin salad with an extra cost for steak added. The steak was extremely overcooked. There were a few smashed slimy mandarin orange slices. I didn’t finish it. Our waitress...
