#434 was an unexpected surprise opening. I've been tracking the progress of @upbrewingcompany for a couple of years now.
Each trip to the Marquette area Iâd drive by hoping to see the OPEN sign. This trip the beer gods shined down from beer heaven.
On a hiking and brew tour with my brothers and sis-in-law, I saw a FB post that simply read âITâS TIME!â Timed perfectly for Negaunee's Heikki Lunta Festival. Celebrating a mythical Finnish snow god, originated in the Upper Peninsula.
Negaunee wasnât on the initial itinerary, but that quickly changed.
This building is amazing! Another brewery turning old, new. Once a slaughterhouse, it's now transformed into a two floor drinking paradise. With brick, steel, and wood spread throughout the brewery. The old meat elevator left in place, centered in the middle of the brewery.
The Suds... I started with a pour of their Saison 6.8%, which quickly turned into my 2nd pour. Their Pale Ale 6.5%.
The older (I mean waaaaaaayyyyyy older) brother enjoyed the Tangerine Pale Ale 6.5%. Younger bro and his wife shared the Stout 4.5% & Blonde 5%

UPBC is an easy 10 mile drive heading into or out of Marquette. A great addition to the...
Read moreI'd give them zero stars if I could. We booked our wedding reception for July back in the winter. They emailed us 6 weeks before the wedding day and told us we couldn't dance on the floors and heels would damage them. Our invites had already been mailed. They suggested we rent a floor to bring (which costs $500). Then they didn't want to have to move any tables so they said we should just use the deck and they could put a canopy on it....for 111 guests at the price of $1400. They don't respond for days, have ruined our wedding reception and won't do anything to make it right even though they're the ones wanting all of the changes many months after our...
Read moreSome friends and I were in town for biking the Ramba trails and found this place. We ordered some beer and flatbread, it was overpriced and the beer tasted like piss. Possibly the worst beer we've ever tried. The flat bread had an off taste to it as well and later that night we all ended up with food poisoning. I can not stress avoiding this place enough. They need to be investigated for...
