I had heard mixed reviews of the Crane Room so I was eager to see for my self. This old crane factory was turned into a restaurant/pub/brewery did not disappoint! The old crane that was used here is the focal point of the decor that harkens back to a time long forgotten. We were greeted by our server Cheri, who was fantastic! Friendly and knowledgeable of the dishes served here. My wife and I both opted for the French Onion soup, that was served with a garnish of tasty onion straws on top. It was delicious, and had a generous portion of onions in the rich beef broth! I chose the Ricotta Cheese Ravioli and my wife had the Grilled Chicken Salad for our mains. The ravioli was perfectly prepared and the red sauce complimented it beautifully. My wife's salad was served with ranch and honey mustard (both on the side) and it was huge and , according to my wife, very tasty! We weren't going to have dessert but when Cheri mentioned the Chocolate Lava Cake served with ice cream, well she didn't have to twist my arm! Well, it was huge! It was delicious! My wife and I shared it. Needless to say, we had a great dining experience at the Crane Room! BTW Cheri is the best!

First time eating here. I had their marinated ribeye with a Caesar side and their chips. My waitress was friendly and service was quick. The ribeye was cooked as I wanted it and it was melt in your mouth tender. The marinated ribeye seasoning is on the sweet side so if you prefer the savory, you may want to opt for their salt and pepper ribeye offering. I finished with their Swiss roll dessert which was big enough to share. Excellent experience!

We love everything about the Crane Room! With a large selection of craft brews (most made in house), delectable food items , delicious cocktails and friendly staff this makes an absolutely fantastic atmosphere for any celebration or just a night out. The industrial theme and rustic decorations are a must see for sure, and even hold a deep history to Newcastle. 10/10 recommend!

This was our 4th visit. We drive about an hour to get here, and if tonight's experience was our first I probably would have never come back.

First the battery in our pager died so we waited who knows how long to get seated before finally saying something to the hostess. I know we waited long enough to drink two tall beers from the bar.

After being seated our server (Ollie) finally comes by and starts by saying he's having an off night. He takes our drink orders and comes back with just water. I see our beers sitting on the bar but he runs off again.

When he returns he asks to take our food order. I ask about the beers we're still waiting on. He runs off and returns with them and takes our order.

The wait seems to be taking forever. A few of us ordered soup before the meals, which we had to ask where they were. He gets them, and minutes later the food comes out but some of our orders are wrong.

We send some stuff back and get our missing sides, but now my burger is barely warm and my bun is still refrigerated and soggy. When the server stops by to see how things are I lodge complaint.

He speaks to the manager and comes back offering free desserts. We take him up on that, but when half our party picks theirs, he informs us the manager said only one free dessert. At this point I'm very frustrated and ask to speak to the manager.

When he comes over he's acting like I'm bothering him and starts offering more dessert. I tell him at this point I'm just very unhappy and we want our checks.

He removes the burger from my check and that's it.

Our past experiences here have been great, but tonight...

I recently visited Crane Room with high hopes, but unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. The once-promising establishment seems to have taken a turn for the worse in various aspects.

To start with, the food quality has noticeably declined. On multiple occasions, I found that my orders were incorrect or not up to the standard I had come to expect from this restaurant. This consistent inconsistency was disappointing and left a sour taste in my mouth, quite literally and to others at the bar.

Another issue I encountered was the uncomfortable seating situation at the bar. The temperature there felt like an icebox, making it a rather unpleasant place to sit and enjoy a meal or a drink. This lack of attention to customer comfort is a significant downside, especially when we expressed the discomfort to the bartender and she said it’s the seat we picked….

Additionally, the once-great selection of beers has lost its appeal. The taps don't seem to be maintained properly, resulting in beers that lack freshness and there once known for beer.

In conclusion, while may have once been a vibrant and popular spot, it appears to be on a downward trajectory. The issues with food consistency, uncomfortable seating, and declining beer quality are concerning, and it's a shame to see a once-great local bar losing its charm. Unless significant improvements are made, I would hesitate to recommend this...

The friendly Hostess seated us at a clean, comfortable booth as soon as we walked in. The waitress and trainee were friendly, courteous, and extremely enthusiastic! The appetizers came out very quickly and they looked and tasted good. Unfortunately, that's where the good part of this review ends. We ordered our Wings very, Very, VEry, VERy, VERY well done, "CRISPY". I saw the server circle and underline "very well done" on his order ticket. The wings came out way too quickly, only minutes after the appetizers; and they looked delicious. Deep fried food is generally too hot to eat the minute it reaches your table, but this was not the situation here. These wings were warm at best, they weren't chewy, but definitely were not crispy. It wasn't rubber chicken, but they weren't prepared the way that we ordered them. And, they had very little flavor to speak of. I should have sent them back, but it had been a very long day. Also, I hated to dampen the enthusiasm of the wonderful young man that was waiting on us. He and the young lady that was training him were the the only thing that made this meal palatable. The price was very affordable with half price appetizers. But nothing could make up for those cool, limp, bland...
