Dead River Saloon — Restaurant in Neshkoro

Opened in early 2025 after a complete remodel. It seems to take years for this business to reopen. Now I see why. Virtually every bit of interior decor has been redone. Feels like an old western bar, which is the intended theme. Lots of wall art, animal mounts, unique light fixtures. Huge wrap around bar. Multiple big screen televisions.

Relaxed environment.

Service was excellent. I came in for a late lunch on a Tuesday afternoon. The bar was pretty empty, maybe eight other people. I was waited on promptly, order placed, water refilled. The food was served remarkably quickly.

The food is limited at this point to burgers, fries and pizza. I had a cheeseburger with fried onions. The bun was soft, not very toasted and sort of fell apart. More time on the grill to get the right level of toast would have made it better. The onions were fried to softness but not caramelized. So close to perfection, yet so far away. The burger tasted like something (?onion mix?) was added to the ground beef, giving it an unusual flavor, not the pure beef flavor I was expecting. The burger was still good, but not 5 stars.

Tried for the first time on Tuesday. This place is so very cool! Love love love the building and decor. You guys did an awesome job! Super friendly staff and owners. The burgers?? WOW! Delicious! Loved everything so much, went back 3 days later and I live a half hour away. Great food, ice cold variety of beers, great service and friendly people! Get there! TRY OUT THIS PLACE! Under cooked burgers in crisp fry’s. Bartender never came back after we received our food. Chatted with the owner about the mistakes. Never offered to comp just remake a new burgers. Great place beautifully done , owner is very personable just need to work on the service aspect. I wish them luck and will try again. Wish I could have had another beer but no...
