Where to begin? Or rather, where to start? We shall begin with the sounds:
The ringing of a bell as a family enters the front door for lunch, the crinkling of the paper atop which my chicken sits, the sound of someone ordering through the drive through, which comes out of a speaker, not a headset like all those other "corporate" spots. (I find headsets and anything that remotely resembles them deplorable.) The bubbling sound of chicken being fried to crispy golden perfection. It all comes together to create a beautiful symphony singing in choral perfection one simple word...... "George"
Now the sights: Bright fluorescent lighting, allowing you to see every detail of your meal in it's eternal and matchless glory. A painting on the wall by the front door, possibly a Renbrandt, maybe Basquiat but absolutely and authentically George's. A movie poster for the iconic and cult classic "Chicken Little" (2005). That's the most perfect sight of all. I love that movie. I always thought that they were pretty mean to that little guy! but then! aliens! wow. I would give Chicken Little five stars just for the baseball scene alone as well as the GameCube video game adaptation.
The tastes and the smells become one in a place like George's and I will discuss them now: Chicken was pretty good! I had a No. 4 and really enjoyed my meal! It smelled like fried chicken! I liked my biscuit too! I almost got the strawberry biscuit thing but I was absolutely plum stuffed! My buddy Paul had a burger after the waitress claimed "You eat that burger and You will never feel sad again.......you eat that burger and you win." My boy Paul can't stand losing so he got the burger. It's hard to tell if he will feel sad ever again considering he ate the burger about 14 minutes ago but he's definitely acting very chipper right now! Maybe it's permanent. I wish I could've met George! I bet he's nice.
I leave you with a poem from an unknown author:
-Now here you go again You say you want your freedom Well, who am I to keep you down? It's only right that you should Play the way you feel it But listen carefully To the sound of your loneliness Like a heartbeat drives you mad In the stillness of remembering what you had-
and what I had, was a number 4 and it was delicious. Thank you George. You have made my friend happy again. May God smile on George and may the chickens slain...
Read moreWent through the drive thru tonight. They close at 930 so we were cutting it close, came through about 910. There was a few cars in line so we figured they were still taking orders. Ordered a cheeseburger, fries and a grilled chicken sandwich. The cashier at the drive thru was so rude. She didn't say hi or anything just you had the fries and chicken sandwich? And a cheeseburger I said. She rolled her eyes and I could tell she got irritated. Shoved the food in my hands, closed the windows and turned her back to me before I could ask for ketchup. I sat there a minute and she walked off. Not a thank you, come again...nothing! If you don't like your job find one where you don't have to deal with people. I understand George's wanting to hire younger kids to I guess help give them money but this girl had 0 home training. No respect what so ever. Blond wearing a blue hoodie. Looked like she was twelve years old and act like it too. When my husband bit into the burger he said it taste like they poured a container of salt on it. Had to throw it away. I guess they were upset we ordered so late. So make the food inedible to get back at customers for ordering late. Simply tell the customer you are no longer serving for the night. Problem solved! George's will never get another dime of my money! Use to be the best restaurant in town but they let their childish employees ruin that title. Tampering with customers food...
Read moreI found this Restaurant to be very clean. Employees were very, very nice. The young lady that took our order was very Polite no rush to get us out of her way to get to the next order. Food did not take for ever to get. By the time I came from restroom ,& fix our drinks they had our order ready for us. It was not over crowd. Nice not to noisy & the lighting was great not to much sun just enough windows to make you feel like your at home enjoying a nice dinner. Food was great we had Fried chicken, chicken liver spicy lightly breaded no over salting, crispy not hard just right. Sides baked beans, mashed potatoes & small fries. They were not over are under seasoned. Biscuits were so light, fluffy when I would break a piece it would just fall apart ever so lightly. Oh my God so mouth watering good. So if your ever close to this Area please go by George's Restaurant just like being at own home eating a good old bite of your grandmother's down home meals......
