Cafe Roma — Restaurant in New Bedford

Honestly very disappointed in my first visit to this restaurant. I ordered the crispy chicken alfredo with ziti *it comes with a choice of bread or garlic bread and a side of soup or salad. Also ordered a steak sandwich with peppers and onions, and a small order of fries and lava cakes. The chicken alfredo was almost flavorless not to mention it hardly had enough sauce to begin with . The crispy chicken was just chicken tenders cut up. The garlic bread was just burnt garlic powder ontop of burnt bread. I did not get my soup. The fries were cold. The steak in the steak sandwich was cubed and not the typical shaved steak. It was also a bit dry. The menu does not offer any description of the food so who knows what to expect. I order a grilled chicken ceaser salad and my husband ordered a medium well cheeseburger. The women at the pick up counter appeared to be drinking alcohol. When I opened the salad at home my chicken was raw in the middle. They sliced the chicken and yet somehow didn't notice or care that the chicken wasn't cooked. My husbands burger was medium rare but atleast it was cooked. When I called them to talk to them about it I was yelled at and hung up on. My husband called back and they said we were "disconnected." We eventually got refunded for our meal, but I will never eat there again and really suggest no one orders meat unless they want to be sick because obviously they don't make sure their food is...

I'm really disappointed. I usually come here at least twice a week for a cocktail, but my recent takeout orders have either been completely wrong or poorly cooked. I truly appreciate the service and the kindness of the bartenders, but having to recook my food at home is just not acceptable. Tonight, they were out of burger patties, so I ordered a pizza instead. Unfortunately, the middle was raw, and I couldn't even pull a full slice out without it falling apart. I had to cook it in the oven at home, which is really frustrating.
