Living in central Illinois the expectation for authentic Mexican cuisine is about as low as it gets. That being said, these guys far surpassed those expectations. The salsa was chunky with fresh chips, and mixing it with the"spicy" salsa that you always have to ask for around here, made it pretty fabulous. The guacamole was just smashed avocado but it was fresh too at least, and pretty tasty with that spicy mix in. The fairly standard fare on the menu had a lot of subtle variations like adding mushrooms, peppers, and/or cheese sauce (phenomenal) to entrees that you see everywhere, making me want to go back and try different things.
