The Bullpen Sports Bar & Grill — Restaurant in New Berlin

This was an experience to forget at The Bullpen. If you're seeking an evening of confusion, missed orders, and general chaos, look no further than The Bullpen. From the moment we walked in, the lack of training was glaringly obvious. The bartender-clearly was unfamiliar with the lay of the bar, the cash register and the menu. She struggled to make even the simplest cocktails. The only concern she seemed to master was scooping up money from the bar and stuffing the tip jar. When asked about the food options, the bartender seemed more bewildered than we were. She squinted at the menu like it was written in hieroglyphics and gave vague, incorrect descriptions of pizzas. I asked for a recommendation and got a shrug of disinterest. She told us she was really busy and implied she did not have, nor would make time for our questions. She mumbled something to the effect of making more money serving drinks. We certainly did NOT feel like valued patrons. She walked away from us mid conversation to greet a male guest she obviously knew. The "service," or lack there of, was painfully slow and she never checked back with us to see if we wanted to place a food order or another drink. Our empty glasses sat collecting dust while the bartender wandered aimlessly. It was our intent to have another round of drinks and an appetizer followed by sandwiches. This clearly was not in our future. The bottom line, I believe this place has potential, but without some proper training, The Bullpen will remain more of a cautionary tale than a "go-to" spot. Very nice ambiance wasted on subpar service. Humongous...

So we walked in and we were greeted from the bartender? Who said good evening and have a seat wherever. We sat at a table between the door and the kitchen. I walked up and bought 20 pull taps. I sat down and slowly pulled them. I had a conversation with a patron about the video games. If he won big or broke even. He replied he won but was still out a couple of dollars lol. 10 minutes after we arrive 4 people walked in and was greeted by a waitress and they went out to the rear deck. There was a cook a bartender and 2 waitresses? I think 2 maybe 3. Anyway after those 4 people went to the deck they got there drink order delivered to them? We hadn't been recognized as anybody. I went up to the bar and cashed in my pull tabs and commented that 4 people came in 10 minutes after us and had there drink's already? And no one had even talked to us or asked us for drink order. I said that's really sad we were there that long and no one would even look out way. I repeated very loudly it really sad when people came in 10 minutes after us and they have their drinks and no one even acknowledged we were there. I said very loudly I will never go in there ever again that's crap. Evidently customers that are regulars get preferred service. I've been served better at George Webb's with more patrons and less staff. I will not recommend this place to anyone. Hopefully you can train your staff to treat ordinary people the same as your regular customers. It was nice and bright and clean but that's all that I could say because we didn't get to order our drinks or...

I had been waiting to for this place to open since I saw it being renovated this summer. The entire interior is gorgeous, everything has been completely redone: floors, walls, bar, bathroom, furniture, etc. The deck has also has all new furniture and railings and is very nice.

The grilled chicken sandwich was simply amazing! I don't generally get grilled chicken because it's hit or miss, but this was great! The fries are also quite good, very light and mildly salty. Overall, very impressed.

All the staff are very nice and pleasant, I chatted with several while I was there and everyone seems very happy to be working in this new space and are excited for things that are planned to come!

My second time back I tried the BBQ wings and brick oven pizza. Both were fantastic! The BBQ sauce has a mild spice, very similar to a mild sauce, but still has the tangy BBQ flavor. The brick oven pizza has a great flavor. The crust has the nice crispy texture I love with just the right amount of cheese and sauce!

Also got to talk to a one of the owners and I am looking forward to additional improvements they have planned as well as new...
