This steakhouse in the little town of New Boston has been a hot topic on Facebook. Many people have loved it and many have not. It is a fairly new establishment and with any new locations they have growing pains. We finally decided to try it out as I am a sort of steak snob 😂. And I had a hankering for a good steak as many places disappoint. When we got.thwre we were sat quickly. The downside of the bat is I'm a pretty big guy and they only have booths and no tables so if you are big it's not the most comfortable. But again that is an individual gripe. The waitress immediately was at our table and got our drinks requests and came back with them quickly as well. There were four of us in the party. Our party consisted of my wife, my mom and my nephew. My wife has the fried catfish plate. My mom has the cheeseburger and fries. My nephew had a the kids chicken strip and fries. And of course, I had the 16 oz Ribeye and Loaded backed potato. Everyone raves about rh food and my nephew actually ate the gravy that came with his strip. And that's a rarity. My steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare. And doe the most part it was tender, until it got to the issue and it got a little tough. However it has a pretty good taste but could have used a little more seasoning like garlic powder. But again that is an individual gripe. Our waitress was Kayla (of memory serves) and she was excellent. We could not have asked for a better server. In the end our meal came to $115 after 20% tip (well deserved), so it can get a bit costly but then again my Ribeye was $35 alone. Not to mention my loaded baked potato was a couple dollars more. Overall it was a great experience and the wife and I will be back for sure. If you are in the New Boston area, head downtown a ways and you'll come to this little restaurant and it will be...
Read moreI travel and eat at a lot of different places, never have I been so disappointed as I was with Bar M. It's what I like to refer to as a "two-for" (First and Last time going there.) I'll start with the service, we had Jennifer and she was an absolute peach. On point, on the spot, and very attentive. Honestly she could do better than working at Bar M. I wish the best for her future in food service. The atmosphere was ho-hum average, not quite greasy-spoon dive, but certainly not better than a corner diner. The food on the other hand, compared to price points truly lacks something to be desired. Let's start with their "hot pork skins" which seemed like nothing more than they opened a bag from the corner mart and dumped them into a bowl. The sirloin, while grilled correctly had no flavor except the black pepper it was dusted in, and the "sauteed" onions and mushrooms looked like nothing more than canned mushrooms that had been drained and pan fried until they were dry. The hamburger steak was also as dry as a West Texas summer draught. The sliders were at least juicy but the kitchen forgot the bacon add-on. At least the fried mushroom appetizer didn't disappoint, but you'd be hard pressed to mess those up... As far as pricing goes, they charge Road House prices for hood McDonald's quality. The same dishes at the same prices would have been perfect at a place like Road House or Longhorn, even Applebee's is better. Overall, I feel pity for the serving staff and hope they do better. I won't be back, I'll just drive the extra distance to Texarkana. For my readers, seriously, don't waste your time or money. Addendum, my son ended up with food poisoning after eating here. I know with certainty that this was the cause because he generally eats like a bird and that was the last thing...
Read moreThe food was awesome! I had a filet, and it was to die for! Although my waitress was a lil sketchy, like cracked out sketchy! Anyway my server who was very forward with me, and explained how being a single mom was tough & stressful. She then proceeded because I'm disabled asked me if I had any pills or marijuana, because I told her I have my Medicinal Card, and the legal way is the only way to go. The next day I had a msg on FB from said waitress who probably got my name off my debit card when I payed my tab asking if I could come back to the Bar M, and drop her off some THC gummies! At first I just said no with a laughing emoji. She then explained in depth how she needed to get off the hard stuff. I asked her out of curiosity what happened? She said after I payed and left the Bar M her friend gave her a Molly, and she almost got fired for being high as a kite. Which most jobs do fire you on the spot for being under the influence. Anyways her story goes on with how she snorted something later that night, and had to be NarCaned at a friends house later! I would love to eat there again, but it will have to be take-out, or not at all if my server is popping Molly and sniffing rails of powder at work. Trigger Warning! Don't assume someone that is disabled is a...
