El Chile Poblano — Restaurant in New Castle

My husband and I recently ordered takeout from El Chile Poblanos. At that time I had no idea that there was more than one location and thought I was ordering from the location on 14th Street. When I went there to pick it up I was told I was at the wrong location and would have to go to the other location on Memorial Drive to pick the food up. I explained that I never knew there was another location and that I had meant to place my order at the 14th Street location. The young lady I spoke to made it very clear that I could only pick up my food from the other location since that's the location I called even though I had no idea there was more than one location. I made a mental note to always ask from now on which location I'm ordering from in order avoid future problems. I then drove across town to pick up the food from the Memorial drive location. My husband and I have gotten take out from the 14th Street location often and have never been unhappy with it. We figured the other location would have the same food. While their menu is the same their food is not the same. The quality of the food at the Memorial Drive location was underwhelming, to say the least. Neither of us were happy with our meal. Excellent Mexican food! What a Hidden Gem this location of El Chile Poblano is! We happened to cross it by complete chance, driving past. It was about 20 minutes before closing time, so we decided to quickly place in order to go. Our orders came out very quickly. The portions were very generous, and the food was absolutely delicious! All the accompaniments and toppings were generous portions as well, and the prices are good! I'm new to the area, and hadn't been able to find a whole lot of good quality restaurant options in the area, so this was a wonderful find! I've been to another local Mexican restaurant, and there's just no comparison. I always ask for extra cilantro and onions on my tacos, and 90% of places barely put any toppings on, however, I asked here and they made my tacos exactly how I wanted them. If you like grilled jalapenos, these were some of the best I've had. Our orders also came with a side of chips and a generous amount of salsa. This place is excellent, and I would highly recommend trying this location if you haven't already. I've never eaten in the restaurant, only gotten carry out several times. But, oh, what a great place. I have high expectations for Mexican, one of my favorite cuisines. This place is awesome, and whenever I'm in New Castle I start dreaming about what I'll eat here. I've traveled quite a bit in Southern Indiana and Kentucky/Tennessee. Always look at yelp and Google reviews for good places. There are a lot of deluded people down south who think they're eating good Mexican, 'cause every place I've tried that's over 4 stars has bland food that's floating in a cheese pool. No thank you. However, El Chile Poblano deserves it's ratings. I've had burritos, enchiladas and nachos from both locations in New Castle. Quick service, well packaged and absolutely delicious.
