"Shoals" is a must-do Block Island experience. Great vibes. Great entertainment. And best of all no paper cups! Drinks are pricey because they are a solid pour, with only the good stuff - in a pint glass. It's definitely "come as you are" but don't be surprised if there's a bachelorette party or wedding party on the dance floor at night. Good times. Go!

Great outdoor bar. Right near one of the places where the boats dock. This is more towards The Oar which is on the other side of the island. A good couple mile walk from the center of town.

If your local or someone has visited the island enough to branch out from the lure of town & the beaches, you've made your way to this watering hole at Payne's dock marina.

Nestled at nearly the inner most point of Great Salt Pond, this cozy little establishment is a favorite watering hole for locals & seafaring types.

This place is one of my favorite lo-cals for enjoying a beverage.

What's best about how this joint, is that you can often find fresh raw seafood offerings right on the dock to supplement your afternoon cocktail or beverage.

Pull up a stool at the dock bar, order a cold one, & tell'em...

I would honestly love to give this bar 0 stars. The manager needs to work on her customer service and frankly her attitude. My friends and I were well over 21 and she took our licenses for 10 minutes to “verify” them. When she came back she refused one of my friends because she “felt uncomfortable that it was a real ID” even though she was 22. If she had a nicer tone we would’ve been fine but she cane back nasty for no reason. My friends and I were not drunk, as this was our first drink, I could see her having a tone if...
