Ambrosia Orchard , Cidery and Meadery — Restaurant in New Haven

Today was our first experience. We had looked online before visiting and my husband had noticed that they offered Mac N Cheese with an option to add pulled pork. when we arrive the menu on the wall doesn't say adding pulled pork is am option, but the sandwich is still listed so he asks the waitress if he can still do that. she responds that they no longer have pulled pork, and he settles for a hamburger like myself. We also then wish to order a slice of cheesecake to be told that it wasn't ready yet, but would likely be soon and that we could still add it to our bill if we would like. We did and proceeded with our order. After a fair amount of time, our food arrived. We were both saddened by the portions for the money we had just spent, but the quality was good. we finished our meal waiting patiently on our cheese cake. Nearly 20 minutes after we had finished my husband finally decides to check with the waitress on it. to our disappointment we were told 'yeah it's just not going to happen today'... disappointed in the lack of service and communication we asked for a refund for the slice of cheesecake and left. Incredibly rude staff especially for the first time experience. I walked up to the counter and said it was our first time. She made a comment about if we had ever had meads before we said not particularly but that we like drinking. Makes a comment that for “non drinkers” she recommends a slushy. I asked next if they do growlers she said yes. I asked for a sample of 2 drafts, I was then told “we aren’t supposed to do this, we are supposed to do flights”. At this point I’m upset because it’s our first time and she could have pleasantly said we only give out so many free samples or no free samples at all. They didn’t have to give me them. Had I known I would have not asked. Then I asked which meads were for growlers she points at the menu instead of simply explaining. Sent my boyfriend to pick me up some cerasium because he was in the area and I’ve been wanting to try them out. He said the guy who helped him was super nice and got him what I asked for right away. I got a 4 pack of cerasium cider and it’s very good. Clean tasting and not too sweet, just how I love my ciders!! It’s a bit pricey so I’ll only get some every now and then as a treat but highly recommend to anyone who loves cider. edit okay the ONLY complaint I have after drinking the whole 4 pack is I have to say I wish they didn’t fill them so full. Everytime you crack one open it sprays back on you 😂 I mean it’s not so horrible, it’s nice they fill it so full but I keep having to wipe myself and the counter off after.
