We have been ordering cakes from the cake box for years & have never complained or had a negative experience, in fact the cakes have always been cute and creative. However, I ordered 24 chocolate cupcakes with white frosting for a birthday party this weekend. I asked if they could do little animals on top because the theme was a petting zoo. I was told that they could do farm animal picks with āsprigsā of grass. Sounded cute so I agreed. Upon picking up the 24 cupcakes which cost $60 (was expecting perfection at that cost) I was shocked to see that all the cupcakes were spray-painted green and looked like leprechaun cakes. Most definitely ānotā cute or appetizing! š¬ I didnāt want to make a big deal in front of the little girl with me but, the gentleman that helped me even said are they OK? When I asked why they were green when I ordered white frosting⦠He said; oh there mustāve been a misunderstanding regarding the spray painted tops. I took the cupcakes because I did not want to disappoint the little girl with me and called later upon returning home. I was very polite and told them I was disappointed and asked if they could do a partial refund because of their mistake. Basically, this is what they said to me; that āIā ordered them that way (a lie)...That they could give me a $6 Refund(whoop teā de) thatās the charge of the icing, Or I could return all 24 cupcakes and they would redo them (no time for that)! If they were willing to do that, why not give a greater discount? My expectation was for them to at least say Iām sorry how can we make this right? Nope, they were rude & didnāt care that I was unhappy. I was a loyal customer for years, but, because of their lack of customer service I will never purchase another cake from them again. (Sure wish I wouldāve taken a picture of those little...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI came into The Cake Box on May 8th (05/08/21) to place an order for July 3rd (07/03/21). I spent a total of $87 dollars on one half sheet cake and 12 cupcakes. I paid and went about my day. They called me on June 22nd (06/22/21) and told me that they will be closed the week prior to the date I placed to pick up my cake and that I could pick it up later in July between the 26th-29th but if I wanted to still get the cake on July 3rd I would have to give them an extra $20 for them to send an employee in for 5 minutes to give us our sweets. I gladly went back and got a refund of $77 dollars. They kept $10 dollars because I canceled on them for their inconvenience. They wouldāve made the cake on June 26th (06/26/21) then kept it in their freezer for 7 days. No way I was going to spend $107 for 7 days worth of frozen sweets. As a business they shouldāve ate that $20 dollar cost but they didnāt so they have now...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWow! This place surprised me with the quality and taste they put into everything they make. I bought a birthday cake and cupcakes after hearing about how good they are. They didnāt have to put me on some order list, I just walked right in and bought a premium cake and a dozen assorted premium cupcakes (assorted in order to please everyoneās different favorites). At checkout I couldnāt pass up the tempting butterfinger cookies cause they looked so perfect. They tasted as they looked, perfect. After how fast that cake was consumed by the party guests, I went back and got another cake just for my household to have to ourselves. I would urge anyone to buy what intrigues them because they wonāt be disappointed in the slightest. 5/5 Stars without a doubt....
