Very disappointed in the ownership at Grounded Coffee Bar. I went to the New Lenox location to have a nice afternoon coffee date with my child and after I had ordered my food and beverages, I gave them a $20 gift certificate that I had received from a friend and the worker there said she was not for sure if they could accept my gift certificate because they were from the original owners. She reached out to the person in charge via phone and she said they could not accept those. I went ahead and paid $22 for my order but I do not feel this is right. Because my friend bought this and now that’s just $20 wasted? So because they would not accept this you basically stole $20. When you take on a business it’s your responsibility to honor those even if it’s prior to previous owners. Example: Agave Azul in Manhattan took on new ownership and they honor previous gift cards that were purchased. And that’s how you run a good business. This should’ve have been honored. And now because of this I do not want to come back and will tell others. As someone who runs a business and deals with customers this is not good business. Also the person in charge that was not there when this happened that told her worker they couldn’t take it asked for my information but I have still not received a call. Very much...

I wanted to write this review to vocalize the consensus of our party... please reconsider the prices, and consistency in pricing from patron to patron. Many of us ordered similar coffee drinks, but we're charged very different prices. And, ultimately, please lower the costs. Ten dollars for a simple cold brew or shaken espresso is outrageous. I love to support local businesses; but in this economy, it's hard to justify stopping here for my daily coffee run when I can get the same drink at a chain restaurant down the street for more than...

The first employee to serve me was so sweet and nice but the second one didn't feel as welcoming but I understand people are human and maybe the day was just off. Got the toast as well that was $5 for a slice of very mediocre hummus on toast. I'm assuming it's made with Sabra hummus and not made in shop. The only reason I'm giving it a 4 star is because the latte tasted really good. I hope I can figure out pricing before I come back and have...
