Country Family Restaurant — Restaurant in New Mexico

The service sucks & the worse waitresses! Came in here with my grandkids & the rude lady with the braids (Gloria or Gloretta) was annoyed because I asked for my grandkids's food first; which was only eggs & sausage links. She & another waitress (her sister-in-law)rolled their eyes & refused to do it. Told me that my family & I are always making "special requests" & she told me not to come back because I called her out on her service & name calling towards me & other customers. My grandkids at the time were 1 & another at a few months old, put them in the vehicle so I can go back in to pay. The first waitress follows me out to call the cops on me for not paying & leaving my grandkids in the car. But I was parked right in front of the resturaunt where I could see my car & everyone could see me. I proceeded to walk back in there to pay & the lady with the braids took my name from my card to call the cops. IDK what for? I paid for our meals, no tip & I never went back. Worse place ever!! Would not recommend to anyone! They never can keep their employees just family members work for them. And...

Some extremely obese white lady was the server, claimed she was a manager. My girlfriend and I went in here to have breakfast with her clearly marked service dog. We were told by the above mentioned lady with her nasty bandaid on her face, "what's the dogs purpose?" I told her she's not allowed to ask that. She then said, "ok well I need to see your dogs certificate or identification or something because of her size." First of all refusing to seat anyone with a disability is against federal law under the Americans with disabilities act. Next on the list she discriminated based on our dogs medium build. Next, nobody but federal law enforcement and TSA employees are allowed to ask for any proof. Lastly this ignorant woman had no idea what to even ask for as far as proof. She tried to pawn it off as owners policy and claimed they were law enforcement. Well then they should be aware of the ADA and what it entails, and if this is the truth about her being a manager then she is lazy. 8/3/20 What would YOU do if you owned the only restaurant in Kirtland equipped to offer sit down service outside ?

1. double prices
2. reduce the menu
3. put up some s### that drips water on the customers and their food while they eat
4. slow down service even more than it was pre virus ? Two stars because the food is consistently edible, if not particularly inspired. Don't go in this place if you are in a hurry. Edit 8/9/20: There is another restaurant in Kirtland now offering table service outside. The newest restaurant. Edit 11/23/20: well, the virus has taken away most of the complaints in the original review, since there is no on site dining permitted, inside or outside, any more. But the Country Family Restaurant remains open for takeout. Edit 4/22: Things pretty much back to normal at this local favorite. Prices stull up compared to pre virus but that is pretty common.
