Stopped by the Sopaipilla factory on Tuesday to grab a quick bite before heading up north. I had only ever been to this place a handful of times before and was eager to try it again. After being seated and given a menu. I soon decided to order the stuffed beef Sopaipliia with a side of red chili. It’s a New Mexican classic and difficult to mess up. When my food arrived, I was not only disappointed with the presentation, but with the overall meal. Most stuffed sopaipillas come with decent side offerings of chopped tomato and lettuce garnish. This one featured neither. The inside wasn’t anything spectacular either. It simply consisted of seasoned ground beef and nothing more. No mix in of guacamole, sour cream, or even pinto beans. The complementary sopaipilla was also a letdown. Which is ironic considering the name of the restaurant. An ideal sopaipilla should always be moist and easy to tear apart (much like soft bread). When I went to break off a piece, it crumbled apart like a ritz cracker. Not to mention it was very chewy. The service was good and I was well taken care of by the servers during my visit. Which stops me from giving this place a two-star review. Pojoaque doesn’t present those who pass through with a great deal of eating options. If in a hurry, or planning to spend the day in town. The Sopaipilla Factory will do an adequate job in quelling your appetite. However, if looking for a good place to enjoy an authentic New Mexican meal. I might suggest traveling with up to Espanola or down south to Santa Fe. Where a higher-caliber of New Mexican cuisine can be found.

I was asked if I wanted chips and salsa so I knew there would be a charge and I'm used to 1.50-3.00 for this but it was 6.00. More than that the chips were all the broken bits from earlier tables, there was not a single whole chip in the entire six dollar side. Service was slow because they were mildly busy and that's ok. Mildly annoying that my appetizer came at the same time as my entree as it took long enough I tried to flag down my never present waitress to cancel the appetizer. The food was ok. If I wasn't starving it would have been even worse. I had the Chile cheese fries and enchiladas. Cheese for fries ended up being the nacho cheese from a can, flavorless. Worst part I guess was the service. My waitress would be at the table behind me talking to her friends who came in to get a table. She seems about high school age. My drink was completely empty for five minutes or more before I could finally flag her down and ask for a refill, she kept going by without looking. The second half of my meal was without any beverage. Then they have the audacity to have the horrible waitress check me out at the table as she watches what tip I give her. I usually tip 30% or so, I tipped 15 and would have done less if she wasn't staring me down. What a horrible experience. I know where I won't be eating ever again.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Sopaipilla Factory Restaurant in Pojoaque, while I stopped by the Peoh Cultural Center and I must say, it was a truly relaxing experience. This is clearly a place where families, both local and tourist alike, can come together and enjoy great Northern Mexican food. The atmosphere was incredibly welcoming, and everyone seemed to be having a wonderful dining experience. For my lunch break, I chose the Carne Adovada plate, and it did not disappoint. The chile had just the right amount of spice (New Mexico Mild), perfectly complementing the tender pork. The Spanish rice was cooked perfectly, with just the right amount of ingredients, and while the mashed beans weren't fresh, they were still quite good. The Sopaipilla was cooked perfectly with crispy top and the honey infused butter was out of this world, I swear the butter was home made by it's creamy texture, consistency and taste. I found the prices to be fair, especially considering the generous portions. My waitress was also incredibly attentive and had a truly pleasant personality, adding to the overall positive experience. I highly recommend the Sopaipilla Factory to anyone looking for a delicious and comfortable dining experience in Pojoaque.

I visited this restaurant with my family. The experience I had here was completely awful! We had to remind the server of the items we asked for a few times. When our food was ready the woman who delivered our food to our table was very careless and rude. she seemed irritated and was very short with us all. She almost sat a hot plate of food on my 7 month old baby's hands. luckily I had stopped her she did not acknowledge what had happened nor did she apologize. My order was Slightly wrong as well. I decided not to complain. When we went to pay our check we learned that the server mixed up our check with another table and accidentally charged another guest our bill. I had to wait for them to figure it out While I had my family and baby waiting. At this point I was upset about it all and decided to speak with the manager/ owner about our experience and inconvenience as we waited. He noods his head and continues to tell the cashier to proceed with our payment.he did not give an explanation ,apologize nor offer any compensation. He walks away as if he did not care. I was very surprised to see an owner act in such a way. I was upset and proceed to cash out. Then the waiter comes over and ask why I'm upset almost as she is confused.I did take the time to let her know what had happened. She then begans to raise her voice at me and tells me I had no reason to be upset! She then embarrassed me as she raised her voice at me in front of everyone and tells me to KEEP THE TIP I was going to give her in cash!I was shocked for the second time with their behavior I didn't know what to do so I just put the cash back into my purse! As I finished cashing out the waiter then decides to yell out in front of everyone to me "thank you for coming in!" "God bless you!!" "GOD bless you!!" very sarcastic and rude! The cashier began to sincerely apologize to me for everyone's bad behavior. I had never I'm my life been treated so poorly at any establishment nor have I ever been embarrassed. I was a server for 6 years and this behavior is not tolerated at all. The food was fairly good, but I definitely will not return to this restaurant in fear of being treated poorly by staff and owner. When the owner has a bad behavior then staff believe they can act in the same manner ! This restaurant has extremely bad service! As well as manners there is no excuse for this! 👎 I want to give no stars but unfortunately I have to atleast put 1 in order to post...
