So I went to the Golden Rye with my client because hus workshop was closed due to weather today. They all know him there since it is very close to where he lives. We were seated immediately and our drinks were on the table in about 2 mins. We both ordered the buffalo chicken wrap which was really good. I normally don't care for wraps but the wrap itself was super fresh, the chicken was tender as butter- really! - and it was just a little spicy without causing sweat or choking like some places buffalo chicken does. I had beef tortellini soup as my side and it was DELICIOUS. He had onion rings which were plentiful, hot, and huge and he loved them. Great experience. The restaurant was spotless, service was excellent and the food was very good. Neither of us used the restroom but I would bet they are also spotless. Plenty of parking, lot was all plowed. There are both booths and tables, plenty of windows so the place is light and airy. Darling Valentine's Day decorations. The main spotlight is on the wall of old photos showing much of the area's history and is well done and interesting to pretty much everyone. Only drawback I see.....they close at 2pm. They are a...
Read moreFirst time here! Came in a little more than an hour before closing. End of their busy hour, seated promptly and waitress was very accommodating and sweet! Ordered cheeseburger platter and also the honey mustard chicken sandwich with fries! Honey mustard chicken sandwich was very good! Next time I get it, I’ll ask for no tomato as it was messy. Entirely on me. Bacon on the sandwich was perfect.
Both platters were nicely presented! If we had to complain about one thing, it would be that the burger didn’t seem to have any seasoning. Would have been nice if it had a little more flavor, but overall not a bad sandwich.
Love the batter dipped french fries fries they were very good!
The wait was a little long, about 35 minutes! Everything was very hot tho, which made up for the wait!
Definitely will be back and can’t wait to bring my husband with me to try out some of their...
Read moreThe place was understaffed on the day after thanksgiving when one might anticipate your dinner being busy. The hostess had to be a server and his tables as there was only 2 people working the front . The food was just okay. It wasn't anything to rave about bout it was good enough that I will come back as I love in town. The sausage gravy seems like it is canned premade stuff. It's good in a pinch but I do not recommend going out of your way to stop in. Expect ba ton of butter on your toast unprompted and it's very bizzare that they give you ketchup in small plastic containers rather...
